Word War Begins NOW!

This is your CHECK IN POST!



1- The war begins now, and will continue until Monday, February 12, 7:00AM GMT for 72 hours of writing.

2- To participate, please check-in with a comment below. You may also post your beginning word counts in order to help you keep track of your progress. All members of hd_writers are welcome to participate! Invite your friends to join in!

3- Use this time to work on your writing - any project, any pairing, any fandom!

4- The hd_writers chatroom is there as always to serve as inspiration and encouragement, as well as the SrsBzns chatroom. Please try to stay on the topic of writing as much as possible this weekend! The SrsBzns room should be focused strictly on timed word wars without the additional chat. For inspiration, writing talk, encouragement, etc please visit the main room.

5- You don't have to participate the entire weekend, just jump in whenever you can and do any amount of writing in order to qualify.

6- Remember to check back in with your final, ending word count within approximately 24 hours after the war ends!

7- Prizes will be awarded at the end of the war for those with the most words!

I need to unblock desperately, and carve out some time for writing. Still tempted to call in sick today to work, but I just don't have that kind of time available. *sighs*

Current starting wordcount is 14,392 (7599 for Bullies, 5769 for the BB, and 1024 for a fest fic).

My goal is 10k this weekend, at least 5-9k of that being on Bullies. I will be trying to spend some time in srs on Sat/Sun. *fingers crossed*

Made a little over a thousand today. Going to be working hard this weekend!

+1312, all on Bullies. Need to do at least three more chapters there to be ready to post on the 15th to my crit group. Also need to take a brain break and work on one of the other two projects, I think. And I blame kitty_fic for the fact that I can feel something trying to plot itself in the back of my head, but it hasn't come forward into the forebrain yet for consideration.

Second check in. Bullies has been sidelined due to lack of ability from my brain to wrestle through where the hell it is going. I put in about 200 words on it. Anyway, current wordcount is 20,228, which is +5,836 from the start, and 4,524 of that was yesterday.

Today's plans include a critique and writing and laundry this morning, plus cooking for knitting, and I have to be at my mom's house all afternoon/evening... so we'll see.... I'm not sure I'll make that 10k goal for the weekend.

Total new words over the three days is +7,409.

I didn't hit my goal of 10k for the three days because I reached a point where I needed to plot, and I just couldn't find the brainspace for it. But I'm confident in the Big Bang now (and panicking because first draft is due in two weeks) and I've backburnered Bullies officially until I can figure out what's going on. So in that respect the weekend was productive.
