INTRO POST (shut up, I tried doing one before, but I was conspired against)

This is attempt number two - LJ et the last one, and then I lost my temper and had to make tea to calm down, and then I forgot all about it...look, let's just pretend that I did this ages ago, okay? I MEANT TO DO IT AGES AGO.

♥1. Are you a writer, beta or cheerleader? ALL THE THINGS! I am incurably mediocre at the first, but apparently I have the gift of making people smile instead of cry when I beta-read for them, and I am quite good to brainstorm with (although the results are a bit mixed - I promise not to encourage anyone to write about Carebear fisting ever again).

♥2. Will you be working on a single project or multiple projects? Um. *tries to count* One, two, many, LOTS. LOTS, OKAY? /o\

♥3. Are you participating in any fests, exchanges or challenges? Having taken a Solemn Vow not to sign up for any fests this year, I now have two fest fics due in the next month. BOTH FOR GOOD CAUSES. One is a pinch-hit for hd_smoochfest and the other is for serpentinelion's Glompfest.

♥4. What is your goal (wordcount) per month? MORE THAN NONE. How's that for lofty ambitions? Realistically, I need to write about 10 000 words in the next month to get both these fest fics done, but I'm trying not to think about it because 10 000 is A LOT OF WORDS FOR ME and I'll just flake out and spend the rest of the day reading Regretsy if I dwell on it.

♥5. What are your project(s) about? (If it's a secret, we understand) Cute wizards boys decide they don't hate each other after all. And then sex happens. Complicated and deep, dudes, that's me.

♥6. Is there anything else you want us to know about you? I shouldn't be allowed near the Chatzy rooms, because somehow I always end up talking about how hot Tom Hardy is. Also, if I'm beta-reading for you DO NOT BE AFRAID TO NAG if I'm being slow about it - I have the memory span of a goldfish and it won't be that I don't want to beta your fic, it'll be because there are have been new pictures of Tom Hardy posted somewhere. Also, also I have a tendency to ramble, but that should be fairly obvious by this point, hmm? HI, EVERYONE, HI! *glomps entire comm*

1. Are you a writer, beta or cheerleader?
Mostly a writer and a cheerleader. I try to keep up with the flist as best I can - even though that sometimes leads to epic failure. English is not my native tongue, so even though I'm a journalis and have done my fair share of editing in Dutch, I do not feel I would be able to deliver any kind of quality in English. In fact, I'm always in dire need of beta's (because I'm a luxury kitty and I like to have more than one).

2. Will you be working on a single project or multiple projects?
What's the superlative of multiple? Yeah, that many :S. I have, however, vowed many times to finish all of them at some point and I intend to keep that promise, erm.... vow.

3. Are you participating in any fests, exchanges or challenges?
I'm participating in the h/d_relief fest for Japan, which means I have a fic due on June 1st (yikes!).

4. What is your goal (wordcount) per month?
Far less than I would like it to be. I don't have much time to write as it is, but I also let far too many things get in between me and writing.

5. What are your project(s) about? (If it's a secret, we understand)
The h/d_relief project is obviously a secret. Other projects include h/d during the war, quidditch related fic, Draco on trial, h/c and dragons fic. I also dabble in the TR and Witchblade universe and this list is by no means exclusive. See what I mean when I say superlative of multiple? O_o

6. Is there anything else you want us to know about you?
I'm currently backpacking around the Asian continent, so while I'm a slow updater on my best days, the lack of internet may force me into an even more sluggish pace sometimes. If you want, you can follow me on my travel blog.

48 Hour WW on May 20-22!

A WORD WAR IS COMING



Clear your schedules! Mark it in your notebooks! Prep your pens and fingers!

Next weekend, hd_writers is having a 48 hour word war. The war starts on Friday, May 20 at 12:00am (midnight) GMT and will continue through to 12:00am (midnight) GMT Sunday, May 22.

We’re so excited about it, we’re giving you a weeks’ notice! \o/

Participants are welcome to jump in for as long as they can, whenever you are able to do so. This is your chance to get that last push on your hd_bigbang, hd_relief or Glompfest works, as well as anything else that needs to be worked on!

The person who manages to get the most words will receive a v-gift, as will any who write 10k or more in 48 hours. Banners will also be provided for the winner, 10k writers and participants by the lovely kayoko!

As always, we’ll have both chats open for inspiration or additional word wars to get you into the writing mood: HD writers and srs bzns. We’d love to have you in! ♥

We will be posting another reminder and the check-in post closer to the start of the war. Keep your eyes on the community!
