ETA: THE QUESTION! DUH! 19 – When you have bunnies, do you sit down and start writing right away, or do you write down the idea for further use?

We welcome your participation! There is no minimum or maximum requirements for your answers -- they can be as long or as short as you'd like. I will include my answer as a comment.

I always do a short starting paragraph while I have inspiration and then add what I want from it beneath that, save, and never open it again (sometimes).

Depends on how much I'm writing at the moment or how much RL stuff I have to deal with. If it's definite multi-chapter fic I'll just remember the plot and write it down/detail it when I have time and save them. I can really only focus on two chaptered plots at once because too many random plot bunnies will pop up and they'll alter the whole plotline. Oneshots, I just start writing right away once I make sure RL is out of the way.

It depends on what I am doing at that moment. If I am writing something else that I promised I would get finished, I write the plot bunny down for later use. If I'm not doing currently doing anything (which is rare because I HATE not doing anything), I'll start it right away. My bunnies seem to be vicious and I'm scared they'll bite if I don't pay some attention to them. :p

Both! Recently, I haven't had as much time to write so now I usually write everything down and come back to it later. When I do have the time to write and something comes to me I usually start immediately because it's usually the time I'm the most inspired, and it generates a better story!

I'll write down the idea...and then I won't write the fic until right before it's due. *headdesk* For non-fest ideas, they usually linger for a long time before I write them out.

It sits in my head, fermenting. If it goes away, then likely I shouldn't have written it anyway. I've been known to stop whatever fic I was supposed to be writing and write to a bunny. It's relief, sometimes.
And I think when I drive--and sing loudly (if you could charactize my singing as musica, which it is not!), so yes, bunnies hop across my dash. Often.

Sometimes the one, and sometimes the other, depending on how much time I have and if I'm in the mood for the bunny. I have over 30 plots for vaious fandoms sitting on my hard drive, waiting to be written, so I write down ideas for further use quite frequently.
