Draco closed his eyes and sighed in contentment. The house was so quiet; he could hear the birds outside, chirping as they greeted the sunlight that flittered through the trees. He enjoyed the silence, especially since he had grown used to having the mob of Weasleys invade his home. He had been convinced that that family could wake the dead, with their loud chatter and boisterous laughter.

It had been at least an hour since their departure with Harry and his own home had never felt so serene. He could feel himself slowly drift off to sleep.

“Draco!”

“Malfoy!”

“Mr Malfoy, we’re back!”

“Oi, Harry’s boy!”

“Draco, you should have seen Harry playing quidditch. He caught the snitch in record time!”

“Please, Hugo, keep your voice down.”

“Charlie was pretty great, too.”

“Stop being modest, Harry.”

Draco sighed. Well, it was good while it lasted.

Serenity. That was the word for it. The perfect word for what she was experiencing now. No kids, no grandkids, no husband, no noise. Just her, and her book. No cleaning the attic, the bedrooms, the kitchen.

She knew it wouldn’t last. She didn’t want it to anyway. She loved her family, with all the noise they produced. However, that didn’t mean she couldn’t enjoy the peace and quiet once in a while did it? She had been busy her whole life, so when moments like this came, she savored them. Because Molly Weasley knew how to live her life.
