Word War: Ready Set Go! (hd-writers)

Get your pencils ready, find your favorite notebooks and pens, and wiggle those typing fingers to get them limbered up. The war is upon us!

1 ! The war begins as of Midnight, the START of Thursday, November 3rd according to your local time. If I've calculated correctly, this post should be up in plenty of time that even the time travelers on the other side of the world will be able to start at the beginning of their own day!

2 ! The war ends as of Midnight, the END of Sunday, November 6th according to your local time. You will have FOUR AWESOME DAYS of writing.

3 ! To participate, please check-in with a comment below. You may also post your beginning word counts in order to help you keep track of your progress. All members of hd_writers

4 ! Use this time to work on your writing - any project, any pairing, any fandom! You do not have to be writing Harry/Draco fic in order to participate. Any and all creative writing counts!

5 ! The hd_writers chatroom is there as always to serve as inspiration and encouragement, as well as the SrsBzns chatroom. Please try to stay on the topic of writing as much as possible during the word war! The SrsBzns room should be focused strictly on timed word wars without the additional chat. For inspiration, writing talk, encouragement, etc. please visit the main room.

6 ! You don't have to participate the entire weekend, just jump in whenever you can and do any amount of writing in order to qualify.

7 ! Remember to check back in with your final, ending word count within approximately 24 hours after the war ends! (We would appreciate if you could check back in with your final word count by the end of your day)

Projects To Be Worked On: Art for hd_owlpost. Art for hd_fanart. Finish art of hoggywartyxmas. Fic for two merlin fests. Get them started.
Other Goals (get characters to hook up, find a way to work in some smut/angst/fluff, reach a certain plot point, whatever)? I need to get my PLOT off the paper and into the computer so I can start writing the merlin FICS.
Anything To Share (flailing, requests for butt-kicking, pep-talks, etc.)? ALL THE WORDS and ALL THE ART. On a personal note: I really need to stop drinking so much. HAHA. I have plans Wed, Thurs, and perhaps Saturday so I'm hoping I'll get some words / editing done on Friday and Sunday!!

I love how "I really need to stop drinking so much" is a legit goal. (I reached a similar point the other week, when I realised I've drank myself out of gin. I blame fandom.)

Probably somewhere between 2,500 to 3,500 words in total
Projects To Be Worked On:
Both my submissions to the mini_fest, a Harry/Draco one-shot, and a Draco/Astoria one-shot.
Other Goals (get characters to hook up, find a way to work in some smut/angst/fluff, reach a certain plot point, whatever)?
The H/D one-shot needs to be finished (last scene/part is missing) and then revised to add descriptions, etc. (current word count: 4,050)
The D/A one-shot needs to be revised to add background to the characters. (current word count: 2,831)

Oh, some butt-kicking might be needed, as I'm easily distracted and prone to procrastination. ;-)

Other Goals? I'd like to write more dialogue -- I'm not well-versed in it, and I feel like I should challenge myself. I want to make sure I stay away from making Draco and Harry too OOC.
Anything To Share (flailing, requests for butt-kicking, pep-talks, etc.)? I just have to say this -- the character of Julian Albert [played by the lovely and bloody handsome Tom Felton] on The Flash is basically detective!Draco. It's hilarious to me, and Tom is so good at portraying him. ♥
