Hi! I'm Kitty (or maybe Kitty #2? KittySquared? Kitty 2.0? Cattula?) - call me anything (as long as it isn't Kathy).
Are we still doing these? I hope so. I'm very excited about joining in, even if I am a few years late.
1. Are you a writer, beta or cheerleader? Writer - mostly. I do beta when I can (and used to work as a sub-editor once upon a time) and I'm always a cheerleader. I'm that person who tries to always comment on stuff. Mostly because I love comments so much myself, I know how good it is. Even if it's just a short squee of a thing.
2. Will you be working on a single project or multiple projects?
Lol, all the projects (see below). In addition to the fests listed below I also have an eventual H/D Lily-lived AU brewing and a multi-verse/parallel universe multi-chapter in a skeletal form.
(Not to mention all my existing non-HP WIPs and projects and commitments to the Supernatural, MCU, DC comics, Buffy, and Teen Wolf fandoms, and my addiction to femslash in general. My muse is a masochist.)
3. Are you participating in any fests, exchanges or challenges? Yep! I kind of dived in the deep end. I'm currently down to do: hd_familyfest (currently finishing this one off now) -
hd_hurtfest -
hp_creatures -
hd_owlpost and
hd_erised!
So, um yes. All the fests. Oops.
I also just finished off something for hptimetravel and wrote a little femslash ficlet for
rarepair_shorts.
4. What is your goal (wordcount) per month? At the moment I'm working to the above deadlines rather than a wordcount, most will be around 6k each and Erised probably twice that.
However, in general I try to write at least 2-5k a week but would like to get that up to 10k - so between 10-40k a month? I work full time so that may be a bit over ambitious - TBC!
I use the pomodoro technique - so if I satrt talking about doing 'tomatoes' of work that's what I mean. I've not actually gone more batty.
5. What are your project(s) about? (If it's a secret, we understand) - due to most of the above being anon posting they're all fairly secret for now. However I can say that they run the full gamut from PG fluff to dark!fic and PWP BDSM smut. My muse is working overtime.
6. Is there anything else you want us to know about you? I'm fairly new to fanfic - I've been writing and posting for about 3 years now and mostly post on AO3. I also use tumblr a lot.
I am very new to LJ however, and still not 100% up on the etiquette or style or, like, anything. So please tell me if I get something wrong!
I am also very new to this fandom, I grew up on Harry Potter but I've only just returned to it, and only just discovered my love for the H/D ship a few months ago. Now I'm a little bit obsessed. Is there cure? I'm not sure I want it if there is ;-)
Oh, and I'm over 30, married, and a Kiwi but I live in Australia. I'm probably in the opposite timezone to almost everyone else. I apologise in advance for being constantly behind the curve or rushing off into the future.

Date: 2016-08-24 05:36 pm (UTC)There's at least one wonderful person from Australia here and another who creates gorgeous stuff in a lot of fandoms, but once every year or so for hp, too. I'm sure there are others, but I still don't know where everybody's from and, tbh, it doesn't really matter. :D
I was once in NZ and had a great time. It's such a beautiful country. Now I have wanderlust. LOL

Date: 2016-08-25 08:53 am (UTC)overlyambitious but I am trucking away and I have a timeline which should work pretty well. As long as my muse continues to cooperate that is. So far, so good!NZ is very pretty - it's a nice place to be from if a bit dull long term. Funnily enough I went to school with a girl who was really into Harry/Draco slash before the last two books were even out, but back then I wasn't into fandom much at all. I keep wondering if I'll wander into her now and have to apologise for being so dismissive.

Date: 2016-08-24 06:25 pm (UTC)I'm super excited to see your fest fics.
You should give the HD-Writers srsbzns chatroom a go - it's all 30 minute sprints, which works quite nicely with the Pomodero technique. Perhaps I'll see you there (or perhaps not, given that you're in the future...).

Date: 2016-08-25 08:55 am (UTC)I have figured out the chatroom thing - it seems like a great idea. I figure I'll just hover about and if other people are up late/early or maybe some other antipodeans appear then yay. If not I'll just have to try and keep myself accountable to my word counts and deadlines. Eeep!

Date: 2016-08-25 10:05 pm (UTC)I'm Bella, thought most people around fandom just call me Raven.
Who cares if you're a little late! We're all still here partying. It's fashionable right?
Sounds like you'd fit right in on our chats (chatzy) if you're comfortable with that. We do half hour sprints with break in between when we're feeling productive or just chat when things aren't going our way. Anyway, would be lovely to get to know you on there.
Also it's wonderful to see you've joined so many fests! I look forward to reading your stuff.
Ps. there is no cure, but if this is what a curse feels like then i never want to be healed anyway :D I've met of amazing people and lifelong friends in this fandom (and the few others im involved in.)
Anyway, welome aboard. Good to have you with us. Full steam ahead.

Date: 2016-09-10 06:04 am (UTC)Wow, your muse is on fire!
You got me to look up the pomodoro technique, which I hadn't heard of before - interesting.
