This is your check-in post for the 48 hour Word War. It will run until Monday at 12:00am GMT. That is 48 hours of writing!

What is a WORD WAR?

Essentially, a word war is timed writing. Participants get together and set a time limit – say, 10 minutes or half an hour – and then write as much as they can in that time period. Authors are allowed to work on any project, and as many different ones as they like. You can edit or write – so long as there is some creative work being done. At the end of the time slot, authors post how many words they have written, be it 10 or 800. Every word brings you that much closer to your goal! ♥

2- Use this time to work on your

hd_bigbang,

harrydracompreg,

hds_beltane,

hd_smoochfest or any other projects you may have going!

3- The chat is there as always to serve as inspiration and encouragement! Please try to stay on the topic of writing as much as possible this weekend! Our main room will continue as it always is: chat, inspiration, word wars, encouragement, etc.

4- The mods have decided to create a second chatroom- hd_writers srsbzns. This room will be focused strictly on word wars without the additional chat. The SrsBzns room will be for FOCUSED word warring!

5- You don't have to participate the entire weekend, just jump in whenever you can and do any amount of writing in order to qualify.

6- Remember to return here to post your ending count sometime soon after the war ends! Just reply to your starting comment with your final count. This is also how you will claim your participant banner :)

7- If you complete a story over the weekend please let me know and I will make a list of our accomplishments! (provide link if possible.)

8- Prizes are as follows:

-Anyone who writes 10k in two days will recieve a v-gift.
