I also wanted to write a quidditch scene. i didn't get that far, because inspiration struck and I added a few scenes in between.

Yay! I belatedly realised my goal was a tiny bit unrealistic -- considering my usual output of 400 word/day :'D -- but I'm happy with the words I've written! I don't think they'll need too much editing, so that's good, right? :)

It's so much harder than angst! God, my first few attempts at humour were dreadful, it's a wonder my beta didn't have a stroke. I like to think I'm a wee bit better at it now (well, hopefully anyway! :D)

I just started the whole thing (writing fics) so every emotion is kind of new. But angst comes naturally and humour not. Haha, and I don't start talking about smut scenes. Hope, my learning curve will be bold ;)

The art was mostly done before the weekend, I'll admit! I just had to bring paintbrushes and go over the color with a damp brush to blend the colors--it was 30 minutes maybe... 60 minutes tops. It was also weirdly soothing, just kind of... petting the art with a brush. I need to do more work with my watercolor pencils. Loads more work. I want to play with different techniques with them, because I loved how the color worked out. If only the art was as good as the color. *sighs*

Thanks! It's... actually very slow for me. *sighs* Last year I produced 50k in a month. This year I'm struggling to hit 30k every month. And I tend to write very long fics, which is making my life kind of difficult. I need to do 50k per month for the new few months to get through the holidays!

Oh, I wish I had a single streak of drawing talent in me. It sounds wonderful to me when you are talking about it. But my drawings would probably look like the ones my 3,5 years old daughter draws. Well, I can do handicraft but that's not the same as creating a 3dimensions out of 2.

My drawing is not talent... honestly, it's not. Sometimes I make things I like, sometimes I'm like... I shouldn't even post this. But I keep trying anyway. And they are so very two dimensional. I keep harkening back to the anime school of drawing that I learned when I was fifteen, except I think I was actually better then. *sighs*

On the words... last year was really weird. Really really weird and hyperproductive and I have no idea how I did that for like six months in a row. But I did and it was kind of awesome. I'm also lucky in that I type really quickly, and if the words are flowing, I write quickly. Which I honestly think is years and years of training. I've been writing pretty consistently (not fanfic, but writing in general) since I was twelve, which was well over thirty years ago. so that's a LOT of practice!!

So you've been writing nearly your whole life. Awesome. What did you write all this time if not fics?

I went more with the really super long limbs and narrow torsos... um, the first people I ever drew looked like the folks in Star Blazers. We won't even talk about the fact that as a teenager I could only draw girls. I only learned to draw men a year or two ago. And everyone still looks like a cartoon. *sighs* Not the pretty anime, honestly.

I've always wanted to be a writer, and I have been trying to write original work pretty much my whole life. I have notebooks from middle school with terrible novels in them. Because I wrote novels and short stories as a kid, and I started trying to get things published when I was 15 (and failed, miserably). I have two professional identities now, both of which are doing terribly at writing anything of late. One for things for adults, and one for things for YA. I keep the YA self separate from THIS self because THIS self is not YA safe.

But yes, I came into fanfiction long after I'd already been trying to write professionally. And the two really aren't all that divorced from each other. I know loads of folks who do both. Most more successfully than me!

Haha, Star Blazers is great. It was my first Anime next to Heidi. LOL
But I have no clue if something has been drawn good (technique, light, whatever) or bad. I can only tell if I like something or not. For example, I love Hopper and Klimt but I can't stand Rubens and Rembrandt (no Barock paintings for me, sorry).

Two professional identities. You are full of suprises. And of course now I'm curious about these identities and am asking myself, if I might have read one of your stories. :D.
You know, I've always read YA books, mostly FS but other topics too. And I've always read FS and SF. One and a half year ago I switched mainly to erotica and LBGT (not only m/m-romance) though remember reading about erotic topics quite early. My mother never restained books from me when I was interested in them as a child or teenager. And I love talking about books. (Duh, you would have never guessed that.)

My parents never restricted my reading material when I was a kid, either. I have always loved words!
