Date: 2014-03-14 01:57 am (UTC)DON'T JUDGE ME. IT'S THE FIRST THING THAT CAME TO MIND.As always, new drabble since everything I'm writing is for fests and bangs.Draco glared at Harry, his entire body tilting as he observed the screen of the television in front of him. His damn... cart... thing, whatever it was called was not going the way that he wanted it to. Harry was laughing next to him, damn near two laps ahead of him.
"Shouldn't have chosen Toad. I told you it was a bad idea," Harry said with a wide smirk.
The game abruptly ended, or so it seemed when Harry managed to cross the finish line and Draco tossed his controller aside. "Damn bloody damn," Draco muttered and then letting out a few more choice curse words. "I hate Muggle technology."
Harry gave Draco another smirk.

Date: 2014-03-15 03:12 pm (UTC)So it wasn´t a big surprise to those that truly knew them, when they announced their reasons for their upcoming nuptials.
„I have to keep an eye on him.“ Harry told his friends.
„I have to find his weaknesses so I can beat him.“ Draco said to Pansy.
What they didn´t say out loud was.
„If I don´t keep an eye on him, he might get hurt.“
„If I don´t know his weaknesses – somebody else might exploit them, and I am the only one allowed to do so.“

Date: 2014-03-15 03:45 pm (UTC)"Come sit by me!" Potter waved a welcoming hand. He looked friendly, if a little tipsy. "There's plenty of room here!"
There was room for exactly one other person on the sofa that had been Transfigured to look less like a piece of common room furniture and more like a couple seat for two. Potter had taken up half the seat and was patting the empty space next to him happily. Blaise made a strangled sound.
"How kind of you to save us a seat," Blaise said through gritted teeth. "Come on then, Draco." He yanked Draco towards the empty seat next to Potter.
"What?" Draco said, alarmed. "I don't want to squeeze in here with you."
"Well, Potter here has clearly gone out of his way to save a seat for us. We should accept his overture of friendship."
"It's not a seat for you." Potter was glaring somewhat blearily at Blaise, but fierce all the same.
Blaise barely flinched. "If it's a seat for Draco, it's a seat for me as well. We come together."
Whatever reaction Draco expected Potter to have, it was not for a startled, hurt expression to cross his face as his eyes flicked between Draco and Blaise. It was gone in an instant though, and then Potter was raising his chin belligerently. "I think that's something for Draco to decide."

With Lily, it'd been about Potions. And at first, it'd been fun. They'd work next to each other in class, carefully watching one another to see if they made a mistake or knew a secret the other didn't. Lily would coyly nudge him as if to throw him off when he was doing something delicate. The winner got to tease the other about it endlessly.
But then Potter ruined it. The poison between him and Lily spread to their playful rivalry and brewing a superior potion became a serious affair, which only served to divide them further.
Eventually, Lily herself became the prize in his discord with Potter and the way it ended really shouldn't have been a surprise, but he'd been young and defeating Potter had seemed like the best way to get Lily back.
And now here he stood, crouched low with his wand high in front of him, ready to flick a curse into existence if Potter the Younger so much as twitched out of his similar stance across the Deuling Platform.
They'd been at it for over an hour and Potter had long since passed his final Deuling practical for the Auror exams. But after Potter had landed that insolent Tickling Hex on his belly, it'd become a matter of principle to knock Potter on his arse. Potter wasn't making it easy for him--Merlin love him.

Date: 2014-03-15 10:19 pm (UTC)"I'll play you for it."
"Play me for it? If you want one, you can have one."
"No way, I want a competition. We can play a match game. Whoever uncovers Snape gets to keep him."
Harry looked at Draco sceptically, but agreed. It was starting to remind him of when they were young third years trying to best each other for the Quidditch cup. Their rivalry had been legendary, and Draco was certainly no pushover.
By the end, Harry was definitely seeing the similarity. "I win!" Draco pumped his fist in the air and danced around the room gleefully.

Date: 2014-03-16 12:15 pm (UTC)Harry waited for an answer but like the past ten times he'd called his boyfriend's name there was no reply forthcoming.
"Draco, I'm sorry! I didn't know it was such a big deal for you!"
Still nothing.
"If you want, we can play again and maybe you'll win this time. I'm pretty sure it was just beginner's luck - "
He jumped back as the door opened, almost making him fall him on his face. Draco was finally out of the room, but the look on his face made Harry wish he'd stayed inside. Without a word, Draco pushed past him and stomped off towards the kitchen. Probably to bang some pots and pans to release his anger as he was no longer allowed to blast the wall when angry. With a sigh Harry followed him, cursing whoever had invented the blasted game. He now had an angry boyfriend to placate.

Date: 2014-03-18 01:21 am (UTC)They were neck and neck chasing the snitch around for what seemed like hours. Every time Harry was about to catch it he pulled back not wanting the game to end so soon. Draco would leave—most likely angry—as soon as he caught it, and Harry didn't want their day to end that way. They'd mostly got along up until that point. So when Draco's fingers brushed the snitch, Harry let him have it. He could have caught it much earlier, he could have caught it right under Draco's hand then, but it wasn't worth it to him.
Catching Draco was.
And it worked.
They didn't fight as they landed. Draco was surprised that Harry was so sportsmanlike about losing and he saw Draco's opinion of him slowly changing as the evening wore on. By the end of it Draco agreed to dinner, to spending more time with Harry when they left their friends.
But the more he learned about Draco, the more Harry realised what a fatal mistake that had been. Draco cared too much about what society thought of him. Harry fit the stereotype of everything they loved while Draco fit the stereotype of everything they looked down on. He told Harry that he had wanted to be with him forever, but he never would have until he had one thing—one thing—that broke that stereotype.
Catching the snitch had been that thing.
Harry watched Draco slowly become more secure and happy, while he became less under the weight of knowing how fragile their relationship really was. Knowing that one comment from Ron, or one misstep from anyone who knew Harry well enough to know what he’d done would shatter Draco and Harry along with him.

Date: 2014-03-18 04:13 pm (UTC)Eep, that is all there is.
I've been pretty much doing fests, fests, and more fests recently, so I don't have any stories non fest related being worked on in the moment. It's an idea I've had for a long while, but have been too busy to write. So I thought, why not making it a drabble?
Although, thinking about it I could expand upon this drabble for some of the other assignments I haven't started yet with this challenge...re-mixing my own drabble...I like this idea...

Date: 2014-03-18 05:16 am (UTC)And damn it, Harry liked that. A challenge. A fight. This was what he’d been waiting for. And with a prize like that on the line, he would give it his all or die trying.
“Fine,” he growled. “We’ll do it your way. I’m going to beat your arse at that match next week, and then I’m going to shag it six ways to Sunday.”
“I’d like to see you try,” Malfoy smirked. “It’s been a while since I’ve had so much fun at Quidditch.”
“Likewise. Get ready to lose, Malfoy.”
Malfoy’s dark chuckle went straight to his groin. “Oh Potter, I think you’ll find that I’ve already won.” He stepped back and gave Harry one last smirk. And then there was a sharp crack and Malfoy was gone.
