Hello fellow writers!
I'm bracing myself and making an entry. *braces self*

I was wondering whether any of you were intending to participate in the oh so promising hd_canon_fest - and if so, flirting with option c) of submitting prompt-less? (If you, like me, need brain refreshment: here's the rules post)
Seeing that I'll be abroad the time prompts are assigned, I'm aiming for writing something before that time, means, before July.

ANYBODY JOINING THE CLUB?

I'm just looking for people to bounce off ideas with, and of course to discuss canon and what'd help the characters to behave that way. (Merlin, I need to re-read the Half-Blood Prince before I start writing... but that's another story.) So generally, partners in the crime that is working on H/D 'canon' fics, discussing them, word-warring, HAVING FUN! Because that's what matters, right? :)

*waves* Yes!! I'm seeing the prompt-less submission in the Canon Fest as the PERFECT opportunity to finish my very long already half?-written fic started before Book 6 that got derailed and never finished. Would LOVE to have a cohort to bounce ideas with!! ^.^

Yep, I'm writing for it right now. And not only am I writing for it, but I'm writing a multi-chaptered fic *facedesk* I'm also not using a prompt because I'm piggybacking on a story that I had already started. hd_canon_fest doesn't start posting until October 1st, so I'm hoping that will be enough time to finish the project.

I am happy to be a sounding board, especially for canon. I am, like, a canon whore. I have always written my fics to be as close to canon as possible, while still embracing whatever pairing I happen to be focused on. And I mostly do non-canon pairings, like H/D or Ron/Pansy, etc. Drop me a PM or e-mail at slytherincess[at]gmail[dot]com if you'd like.

Me too - though I'm sure my canon knowledge is not too impressive.. it's been several years I read these books. (I'm should re-read at least the last two before I start writing.)

Discussion, definitely. I'm trying to get started writing my first HP fic (with H/D definitely on the horizon eventually), so ANY ideas of how to keep people in character -- especially the snarky ones, like Snape and Draco -- are always welcome!

Totally! I'm pretty much a canon girl (as canon as you can be, besides, you know having Draco and Harry snog shamelessly everywhere). But now that you've mentioned this fest, it might be a good idea to go promptless and get this ridiculously half written fic I've been working on for ages. :P
