Hello again! This is your mid-monthly check-in-- how did you do with your April pledge? Check back in over there and you'll get a banner this weekend!

(Even if you didn't reach your goal, as long as you wrote words, check in anyway!)

We're on a roll, so let's continue this for May! I'm sure we can all write a weeeee bit more than we did last month, too. ;)

We all say we want to write, but sometimes we just... never get around to it. It's not an uncommon problem, but maybe this can help. Sometimes the declaration of intent, of publicly saying "This month, I will write this number of words" is enough to kick our arses in gear, so why don't we hold ourselves accountable to each other?

Let's:
a) declare the number of words we want to write for the month (check in with a current total word count of all your projects if you have a few ongoing ones)
b) write, write, write!
c) check back in at the end -- there are banners in store for those who reach their goal!

No word count is too big or too small. Start with something you think you can manage. And don't worry if you don't reach it, either! All words are great words--the important thing is getting in the habit of setting a goal.

Good luck!

I am setting 35k (although I really want/need to set 45k) again. I'll count it a bonus if I can reach the 45k in the end!

I would set it at 15k again but as I've already written 10k I might go for broke and try 20 XD Have a few fest fics that need finishing/starting so hopefully this will give me a swift kick up the butt to get moving :D

I've never even kept track before, but I really should. I'll go with 15,000 for my first month of keeping track, because I have no idea how much or little I really write but I'm working on three fests right now.

First time doing this and I've never kept track so I'm not sure what's realistic, but I'm going to try for 30k in the remainder of the month (so, discounting the 5k or so I've done so far). We'll see how it goes...

My goal is to finish up my original fic short story. :) It's around 7.5K now, so I need to get it to 16K.

Good luck to everyone else!

I'm in for 10k again! That's a good challenging number for me but also very doable if I just keep writing!

I've never done this before, so to get my bearings I'm going to start off with a target of 8k :)

Unfortunately, I didn't make my goal. I only wrote 3,158 words this month.
