I think I need to do some more detailed plotting if this is going to work. I have no sense of which direction this story is going right now, and i keep doubting myself as a writer.
Anything To Share (flailing, requests for butt-kicking, pep-talks, snippets, etc.)? I'm in a terrible writing funk right now. I'm typing and deleting, typing and deleting. Arrrgh! It just doesn't feel right at all. Maybe I should just stick to fluffy little pwp oneshots and not attempt things like plot and character development at all *headdesk*. I hope it'll be better tomorrow, but a peptalk would be nice right now.

Date: 2013-03-29 12:54 am (UTC)If you're stuck, make notes and move on. For example... Just make a note that says "[NOTE: Insert scene where Draco learns about the Thing]" and then go on to the NEXT scene. It's okay to skip past the tough bits and fill them in later when you're editing.
But most importantly, don't doubt. Even if your entire first draft is "[THIS IS THE SCENE WHERE...]" then you're doing fine. You can flesh it out. Write the bits that work, make notes for the bits that don't. Talk to yourself on the page and soon the words will be flowing. But the most important thing is let the words out... don't delete, just set the words aside and write new ones. Keep going.
