Write a 10k with me!!

Want to get a head start on that monthly pledge you just made? Have projects due thisweekomghowdidthathappen? Just have a great weekend for setting some time aside to write?

Then come join me on a word race!

This isn't a war (there is a war coming... keep watching this comm for the announcement in a little over a week!). You don't have to write more than me, and no one's going to say anything if you don't make it to the finish line. But me, I have SO MUCH due that I'm going to try to write 10k in 2 days, so I'm racing against the clock and myself.

Don't think you can do 10k? That's okay! We have shorter races, too! You can write a 5k, or if you're a miler, aim for 1.6k.

How does this work? Just comment below to say you're starting, and tomorrow I'll have a wrap up post for the finish line. You can say what projects you're working on and at the end, tell us how you did! Any distance you make is AWESOME. If you write 100 words, that's further down the road than you were before you started, right?

Don't forget, the chatzy rooms are always open. There's the serious business room where we will be focused on timed sprints (20-30 minute word wars), and there's the general room where you can talk, rest, relax, and get help with plot and focus and any issues you might come up with. Please remember that while the srs room is for all ages (please keep your conversation to a PG-13 level there), the general chat room is only for those over the age of 18.

This race is not fandom specific! While this is an H/D community, any and all writers are welcome here for the race, no matter what you are currently working on. We are united in our need for words!

The dates for the race are Saturday and Sunday, according to your local time (or Sunday and Monday... I'm flexible, okay??).

I should sign in for my own event!

I'm writing a 10k this weekend, if I'm lucky.

I'm working on dracotops_harry (needs to be finished), hp_darkarts (needs to be started), hd_smoochfest (needs to be started), and "Haven't Forgotten My Way Home" (my TW WiP). If I'm luck, I'm going to spew out a Sterek one shot, too, if I feel the need to make myself cry.

Hi :) I'm going for 10k, and I'm going to start with my Paperlegends fic and see how much I can do on that. If I need a change of scenery I have claimed prompts for a few TW fics, a Sheriff/Derek (almost done), Chris/Stiles and a Derek/Boyd, so I'll do a bit on those *g*

I keep making "index cards" in Scrivener with all the plot bunnies that overwhelm me. It makes them sort of happy, until the sad!fic says "NOW NOW NOW" and I'm like I DO NOT HAVE TIME FOR YOU! Er. Yes, I talk to my plot bunnies...

Ooooo that's a good idea!! I may have to start doing that. Because I mean I *LOVE* that my muse is still so happy. ( Before Dec. 11 I went 8 years without writing a stitch.) But holy crap, adding new fandoms has made the thing go crazy!

I am BARELY managing to hold sane with two fandoms (and the occasional rare foray into Merlin) plus writing original. I have a feeling I'll hit the wall soon (if my manuscript is picked up, that wall is going to be very large and painful, too). But make copious notes. Then you always have something to pick from!

Found the gloriousness of internet fandom in 2000-01 and only wrote the A-Team exclusively. Then started watching Supernatural last year but was so scared of the gigantic fandom that I just sorta watched from afar. It wasn't Christmas when I was slacking on writing my Secret Santa story that I watched Teen Wolf and knew I was a goner. Werewolves... my damned weak spot. Hehehe so I knew I was gonna be writing. THEN I actually wrote something for Supernatural and now I'm like CRAP ALL THE FANDOMS!!!! (Even if it's really only three.) hehe

But it's nice outside and I'm alone all day so one way or another, even if it's not what I intended to write, I'm gonna get stuff done. xD

Now I'm gonna disconnect the internet for a bit so I can actually DO THAT! xD

Holy moly. I'm total doing the 10k.
Haven't started yet but I have to completely rewrite my A-Team 2010 Circus!AU story for the smallfandombang that's due by the end of the month. I want to get a solid outline for my Supernatural werewolfbigbang story. And want to HOPEFULLY get at least ONE of my three A-Team WIPs that've been languishing in space for almost a year finished.
