Hello, everyone! My name is Evy and I'll be helping run a few things in the comm. :)

We all say we want to write, but sometimes we just... never get around to it. It's not an uncommon problem, but maybe this can help. Sometimes the declaration of intent, of publicly saying "This month, I will write this number of words" is enough to kick our arses in gear, so why don't we hold ourselves accountable to each other?

For the month of February, let's:
a) declare the number of words we want to write for the month (check in with a current total word count of all your projects if you have a few ongoing ones)
b) write, write, write!
c) check back in at the end -- there are banners in store for those who reach their goal!

No word count is too big or too small. Start with something you think you can manage. And don't worry if you don't reach it, either! All words are great words--the important thing is getting in the habit of setting a goal.

This sounds like fun!

So, I've got this fest fic due at the end of the month. And I'm at 9,000 words with it, and I haven't reached the heart of the story yet. I'm hoping to do another ~14,000; I should know within a week if that's not enough and maybe amp up my speed.

I pledge to hit 25k total for February. I have kinds of loads of stuff to get written this month. I also have a spreadsheet which handily tells me how many words I write daily and monthly, so yay for easy tracking!

I aimed for 40k last month and didn't make it. I'm aiming a little lower this month since it's shorter and still busy as hell.

I exceeded my goal by 12k.

Yeah, with the regular writing for fullmoon and on the TW WiP, I think I'm doing around 7-8k a week on those alone. The hard part is keeping up with everything. I might be going slightly insane. I try not to think about wordcount (I just record it) and think more about the projects and what needs to be completed. Or else I'll go completely nuts!

Two fics for fests.
I want to start on an original F/F fic that I was planning to do for ORGasm, but never got around to do.
And.. a research paper for Anatomy/Physiology... does that count?

I pledge to reach 12k in febuary. That should mean finishing the last three chapters of the fic I'm writing + one or two procratination ficlets. 3k a week sounds realistic, I think.

I even managed to post part one of Fiendfyre (aka the Fic that Ate my Brain) plus two Merlin ficlets.
