We all have dreams, and among those are our dreams for our fics, our novels, our writing in general. Are you dedicated enough to make those dreams into reality? All it takes is 1667 words today, and you'll be well on your way to making your dream of achieving the NaNo pace a reality!

Responding to my own post... :)

As of last night, I'm at 11,202 words so far, and two drafts completed. I am doing a mixture of short and long work for NaNo this year, with the pace being more important than completing a single novel. So I finished an original short story on the second day, and that will be going to critique either this week or next. Also, I finished my rough of my kinky kristmas piece last night, and that'll be going to beta today I hope, after I do a quick edit/read through on it for coherency. Next up is a series of ficlets for Christmas cards (I have a dozen to write, eep!).

ALL WORDS ARE AWESOME WORDS. I figure it's not cheating because just setting a high pace is amazing, whether you're writing a single work or several works.

And word wars are awesome. Love them!!

I'm only at 4k, but my goal was to write every day, and so far I've done it. I started from page one, with just a vague idea of where I was going, and no idea how I was going to get there, but now the story is really coming together, so that's great. And if I count the .doc with loose strings of dialogue and snippets that I want to include in my story at a later point, then I have another 2 k. So, I'm meeting my own goals, even if I won't make it to 50k.

Go you on achieving your goal!! That's the idea, make your goals, push yourself as a writer, and you are getting the spirit of NaNo. As far as I'm concerned, the letter of the law isn't what's important in November. It's a jump start month, a chance to set new writing habits and carry them through the year to come, so GO YOU.
