“I want to go trick or treating with Fred and George!” Ginny whined, stomping her feet.
“No Ginny, it’s not even up for discussion. Fred and George are not going trick or treating this year. I’m sitting on them all night, not taking my eyes off them for one second. You’re going trick or treating with Percy,” Molly said. This holiday was just too tiring for a mother of seven, especially when six of those were troublemakers.
“But Mom, Percy’s boring. He’s didn’t even dress up this year. He’s only going because you’re making him. Fred and George want to go, but you’re not allowing them,” Ginny said, trying to reason her way out of this.
“Don’t talk about your brother like that Ginny. And stop whining. If you want to go out tonight, you’re going with Percy. If you don’t want to, you can spend the evening in your room!” Molly said. She kept her face stern as her only daughter fought with herself and smirked inwardly when she just pouted and went out the front door with Percy. Sometimes, her children could see reason. Sometimes.

Dumbledore had always found the Muggle holiday known as Halloween amusing. He also found amusing the act of children going from house to house in the middle of the night, dressed as ghouls, witches and other vicious things to knock on the door and say, “Trick or treat.”
The combination of curiosity and his love for all types of sweets finally got the better of him before he used a simple glamour charm to look like a child who was in an ill-formed disguise. The night was young when he started and it was definitely past midnight when he ended.
Dumbledore’s eyes sparkled as she surveyed the Muggle candy he had received. With the curiosity of a child, he tried one type of sweet after another, his grin widening with each bite. He certainly did understand the love for this holiday. If anything, he was convinced that he had just started a yearly tradition.
