“Where’s Remus?” James whispered to Sirius as Dumbledore made his speech.
“I don’t know, it’s weird, it’s normally either one of us that has to sneak into the Hall, not him. He doesn’t have detention or something that horrible does he?” Sirius mumbled, looking around the Great in a way he thought was subtle.
“Nope, no detention, just a very important letter, Padfoot,” Remus said as he sat beside Sirius.
“What letter? You sending love-letters to other people Moony? I feel betrayed,” Sirius said, mock-pouting at Remus.
“I’m amazed at your ability to think first of love-letters when I tell you I had an important letter, Padfoot. I had to send a letter to the Ministry of Magic love, not a love letter to my affair.”
“So you admit to having an affair? You dog Moony!” Sirius said, trying to look accusing and failing spectacularly as his voice broke one Moony and he started laughing.
“I thought it was you that was the dog, Padfoot,” Remus retorted, just in time for the dinner to appear on the table in front of them.
“I love Halloween,” James said, as he dug into the candy and sweet-flavoured food on the trays.
Remus only shook his head laughing, before pushing away the matters of his letter and enjoying a great Halloween with his boyfriend and friend. And the whole of Hogwarts.
