Today's event is a challenge of 'Changing Tenses'!
Your challenge if you choose to accept it is to take any ficlet, drabble, paragraph etc and change the tense! You can start with past tense and make it present or start with past tense and make it present, etc! Or you can get fancy and try out future tense xD
{Reference: Purdue OWL: Verb Tenses}
Your drabble/ficlet/paragraph can be something from your previous works or it can be something you write new just for this challenge. We just ask that it be at least 100 words.
Post your results in the comments! And of course medals will be rewarded for our participants at the closing ceremony tomorrow!
You have just about 24 hours to submit yours! I look forward to seeing what you come up with!
Reminder: Our closing ceremony and medals are scheduled for Tuesday, but there may be a slight delay. They will be coming either late Tuesday or possibly on Wednesday in order to give everyone time to participate in this or any other events that are still ongoing. Plus it will give the mods time to get the prizes ready! Thank you to everyone who has participated so far!

Date: 2012-08-13 11:11 pm (UTC)"What IS THIS?" a voice roars from the entrance to the classroom. Draco and Harry both spin around.
If it were someone else in this predicament, Draco would laugh. There stands Snape himself, staring at the spitting image of himself fucking Harry Potter.
Harry pulls Draco's prick out of him and grabs a robe to cover himself up. He looks from Draco to Snape, his mouth wide open.
"Who - what?" Snape sputters. His face dawns with the rush of realization. "Finite Liquamentum," he says, pointing his wand at Draco.
Draco feels his body turning back into himself. He quickly tucks his cock back into his trousers and looks from Snape to Potter.
"It was you," Snape says calmly.
Draco is paralyzed with horror. Words are unable to form.
"But - this is just the first time, right? We've been -"
"Potter, this is the first I am hearing of our relationship. Though, this does explain the incident in the Forbidden Forest."
Harry puts his robe back on and stands up from the desk. "Four months. Malfoy, you did this for four months?"
Draco winces, opens his mouth, then closes it. What words can possibly help him in this situation?
"Go on, Draco. Do tell how you got off pretending to be me," Snape says with his best sneer.
"Polyjuice Potion - " he chokes out. "I've been using Polyjuice Potion. I wanted to get revenge on you for not supporting me enough - and I knew you wanted Snape - and I - I - I brewed some. I wanted to humiliate you and make you hurt. But then - Harry, I'm in love with you. Wonderfully, desperately, painfully in love with you. I don't think I can go on much longer without knowing that you love me back, not Snape. He never took the first step like I did. I took the initiative and went for it. Harry, please, forgive me." Draco feels tears filling his eyes, but refuses to blink. "This man never loved you, but I do."
Harry is speechless again, while Snape swoops over the two boys. "You did something highly illegal out of revenge? And then lo and behold, you fall in love. How sweet. Did you expect everything would work out in your favor? That I wouldn't find out and Potter would forgive you, just like that? Furthermore, you violated not just one, but two people. You took over my body and used it for your own gain. You disgust me."
Draco shrinks into the seat behind him. He glances at Harry, who is still staring mutely at Draco, then back at Snape. "I didn't mean for you to find out," he replies. There. That is as good an apology as Snape will ever get.
"What did you expect would happen?" Snape asks, venom in his voice. "I don't even know what to do with you. I should turn you in to the Headmistress, but that would involve further humiliation on mine and Potter's accounts. So instead, every night for the rest of the year, you can expect to be cleaning out cauldrons in my classroom without the use of magic."
Draco says nothing. It is a punishment he secretly feels he deserves; in fact, he probably should receive something harsher. Even though he is distracted by Snape's cruel words, he can't help but watch Snape's expression soften each time he looks at Potter. So the bastard does want him. Perhaps he even knows about Draco's affair and chooses to expose him at the worst possible moment. Whether that is true or not, it is highly doubtful that Potter will ever forgive him. Maybe he can try?

Date: 2012-08-13 11:11 pm (UTC)Harry looks back and forth from Draco to Snape. "I would like to speak with Draco first, sir."
Draco's ears perk up. This is unexpected.
Snape sighs and crosses his arms. "Very well."
"Alone, please."
Snape rolls his eyes. "For Merlin's sake, I am your professor. Why are you giving me orders?"
"Please?" Harry asks, tears filling his eyes. "I swear I'll go back to my dorm after I talk to him."
The professor turns and storms out of the room, leaving Draco alone with Harry.
Draco looks into Harry's eyes hopefully. His face has sort of glazed over. Draco is unable to figure out how Harry is feeling. "I - I'm sorry."
"You're sorry," Harry repeats harshly. "What are you sorry for?" Before Draco has the opportunity to speak, Harry continues on. "Are you sorry for tricking me? Getting me to fall in love with someone who doesn't even exist? Or are you sorry that you backed yourself into a corner? You must know that I can't even fathom starting a relationship based off of lies."
Draco reaches out to Harry, but he slaps his hand away. "Please - I behaved like a total arse."
"Arse? Malfoy, I don't even have words for how you behaved. You think it's okay to play with people's emotions like this? Do you think it's an acceptable way to convince someone you should be together?"
"I didn't WANT to be with you. Not at first."
"So that makes it better. You came into this thinking you were going to humiliate me because I wanted Severus."
"Snape. Professor Snape. You never had a relationship with him, Potter. It was me you fell in love with, me who made you come three times in a night!"
Harry laughs and bites his lip. "I don't know what you expect me to say, Draco Malfoy; except that you are the cruelest, most emotionally stunted student Hogwarts has ever seen. The mere idea that you thought I could forgive you further confirms my theory that you are the most self-centered person to ever walk this planet. You disgust me."
Draco can see tears forming in Potter's eyes again, frosting them over and making him even more gorgeous. "I'm sorry. Isn't that enough?" Draco asks. "I don't know what it is you want from me."
Harry draws in a deep breath and rests his hand on Draco's shoulder. "What I want is for you to never speak to me again. Don't even look at me. Like I told you before, we aren't school yard rivals anymore. If you think that there is something between us, just know that the only feeling I have for you is contempt. It's over."
Draco watches as Harry turns and walks away.
What did he really expect to happen anyway, Draco asks himself. For Harry to see through the deceit and recognize that maybe he has feelings for him too? That they will kiss and go up to his dorm? That Harry will understand and reassure him that his behavior, while rash, is reasonable, especially when it came to love?
The tears Draco fights so hard that evening come splashing down; the sobs that he chokes back now burst out. He brings his knees to his chin and buries his face in his hands.
Everything he hopes will happen fails to. And it is entirely his fault. There is no one to blame this on but himself. Sure, he can try blaming Potter, but that will not fool anyone.
Draco doesn't bother wiping the tears from his face; instead, they feel liberating sliding down his cheeks. It is as though he is finally given release from the months of torment, the months of being with someone who doesn't even realize it is him. All of this pain washes away with these tears.
Potter doesn't love him. Potter will never love him. He tells himself these words many times out of self-pity, but does not really consider the meaning behind them until now. Potter loves Snape, as daft as it is. Potter says he doesn't have any romantic feelings for Draco. Who is he to expect something he can never have?
It is true, Draco does love Harry; that much he is positive about. But he is just 18 years old. He has a whole life ahead of him. He will have a broken heart for a bit and sulk around for a while. However, one, two, even ten years down the road, he can look back on this and smile.
Draco Malfoy learns a lesson.
