Once Upon a Tweet

A unique challenge was issued on June 6, 2012 via the New Yorker magazine. The New Yorker’s fiction department serial tweeted Jennifer Egan’s story “Black Box,” which appeared in the magazine’s science fiction issue. Egan structured her story in prose bursts of 140 characters or fewer—the limit for a single tweet.

Challenge yourself to write a Harry/Draco story that could appear in small installments by shortening the length of the story’s paragraphs to one or two sentences. Try to advance the story with each terse paragraph.

Twitter fics are due Monday 13 August 2012 at 12:00 P.M.GMT!

What would Harry and Draco say in 140 characters or less?

LET'S GET TWEETING!

Email your Twitter fics to me at slytherincess[at]gmail[dot]com and I'll make sure they're posted to the community :D

*I chose this challenge before remembering I actually wrote two small H/D Twitter ficlets back in the spring of 2011 called Snitchly and Twee [PG-13]. I'm sharing the link here so people can see one kind of structure for a Twitter fic if they'd like to. There is absolutely no obligation to click the link -- it is not a requirement of the game. If anyone knows of any other H/D Twitter fics, please leave a comment with the name, author, and URL to the story and I will edit them into this post.

Just checking... the fic doesn't have to be written as if Harry and Draco (and others) were tweeting each other, does it?
