It's Wednesday!
Some of us are feeling tired and run-down. Some of us can't wait for the weekend to finally come. And some of us have already thrown our plot bunnies into the ether.
But never fear, Quick Quill Quotes is here!
Take up your Biros and Ballpoints! Brandish your sharpener and retrieve that dreaded red marker from its dusty corner! Flex those fingers!
The current week's theme is: Comedy
This can be anything related to Comedy. Does laughter fill the air in whatever setting you've chosen for your scene? Have you, as a writer, decided you want to bring joy to your readers hearts with jokes galore? Or is one of your characters full of particularly bad puns?
We’ll love to read anything you give us!
So give us a snippet of a current piece you're working on, don't be shy! Whether there's only one word related to the theme or it's a devoted sonnet, we want to hear about it.
Don’t have anything related to this weeks theme? No problem. A new drabble within the word limit is an excellent contribution as well! Only got 50 words? So what? Every word counts!
Entering and Rules
The snippet or drabble must be 400 words or under. It should be a new drabble OR from a current work. It should also, however loosely, be related to this weeks theme.
To participate, simply leave your contribution as a comment below.
Posting will close Wednesday 9th October at 00.00 GMT

Good Luck!
Note: Even after posting closes feel free to let a well-deserving author know how much you loved their snippet! Comments on entries do not close!

It’s the last Wednesday of the month!
Pens lay useless and ink-dry. Pencils thrown snapped and abused. Fingers sore from furious Word Warring!
But never fear, Quick Quill Quotes is here!
And to reward you for all those scuffling battles, straining to get words to submit to your will, this week is a HD SPECIAL
The current week's theme is: HD Quidditch
This can be anything related to HD Quidditch. Are there tempers rising on the pitch? Or is it more of a locker room passion? Any balls in sight?(read: blatant welcome to the other kind of dirty). (Please leave CAP WARNINGS at the beginning of your entry.)
We’ll love to read anything you give us!
Take up your Biros and Ballpoints! Brandish your sharpener and retrieve that dreaded red marker from its dusty corner! Flex those fingers!

ALL WORDS ARE AWESOME WORDS!!
![[identity profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/openid.png)

Message from the Headmistress!
I have been answering questions all morning (very good questions, I might add) so I thought it would be easier to post the answers to some FAQ's:
1. Can we use more than one prompt in a fiction or art? Yes you can! But remember to have the word count equal to or greater than the lowest word count of both prompts. So if you want to use 4 prompts, as long as your work is 400 or more then you’re in the clear. Remember Snape loves to give detention!
Icons are harder because of the space and the fact you would have to do 2 or more with the same prompts in them.
2. Can the WIP be a non-Harry Potter fic? Yes it can be and you can mix this with the Word War or the 3k or more words assignment too.
3. Does the WIP have to be a chaptered fic? No any WIP that was a WIP before the 1st can count. That goes for unfinished art as well. Some people offered to create screen shots so we know, and that is a great idea but if you can't it is not a requirement. The House Ghosts are watching you anyway. Also if it is a fest and not posted, let us know the fest and as much information you can provide. If nothing else to rush to your work and give it all the praise it needs.
4. Can we have a list of communities that we can prompt at? Yes you can, I'll get a list up, but any HP community will work, spread the love of Harry Potter writing and art!
Also the math on #25 is fixed sorry it's 10 icons needed.
House Totals for Day 1!
These totals were up unto 9am PST I'll have day 2 up faster long meeting with the Board of Governors prevented me from doing it sooner
· In 4th place with 0 points is Slytherin! Come on snakes it's time to wake up, put in your hair gel and get to work!
· In 3rd place with 20 points is HufflePuff! - Good job Puffs!
· In 2nd place with 30 points is Ravenclaw! - Some great stories from Ravenclaw!
· In 1st place with 65 point is Gryffindor! Wow Lions, you’re wasting no time at all. In fact this House was brave enough to grab the first bonus 3 mins into the term!
Remember this can change at any time, so keep working! Any if you have any more questions please ask them here on this post, and the Mods will be happy to try and answer. And lastly, you can keep an eye on your points on the spreadsheet link in your common room and click on your house. The post is locked so others cannot tamper with it.
