I love reading about people's writing processes - where they overlap with mine, where they are different. I love how you talk about writing being an excuse to daydream! That's all I have time for currently, unfortunately - daydreaming (because creating free time for me would mean being an irresponsible *self-employed* professional and/or earning no money *and* being a crappy parent, so not doable). But the daydreaming is loads of fun - because for ages after I have a baby I don't even have enough sleep/mental funstion to daydream, so it's really nice when it comes back and I'm showering or in the car and my head is filled with dialogue and drama and visuals. When I did write stuff, having a point to write to was always my best motivator - the scene near the end that I really wanted to write. Sometimes I wrote it first, sometimes last, but it was always the beacon allowing me to join up the dots.
