Hello all! I posted this to my journal and kitty_fic asked me if I could cross-post it here, which I was very happy to do. I wish that everyone could see this, because it is so true, and it is a wonderful reminder to keep going, to not give up. So when you're feeling a little blue about what you are producing, when that thing in your head is so far from what ends up on the page, remember that you just have to "fight your way through that," and don't quit!! It is only through practice, and doing more, and making more things, that we get better.

Beautiful. I love that. It's so true.

I had this idea for an original novel back in 2006 and it so frustrating because whenever I started to work on it, whatever was on the page, was nowhere near as what was good in my head. And it's only now, 5 years later, that I'm actually managing to get words down that I actually like and think are starting to form something that could possibly be... good.
