It was just another Ministry Gala and he found that the only way these galas were tolerable is when he found a Weasley and made conversation. This time, it was for Christmas celebrations and like usual, Draco dragged him along. His boyfriend found the galas more interesting than Harry did and while he usually put up a struggle about coming, he thought it was only fair for him to come to this one. It was their Christmas party, after all. As soon as they entered, Draco found some friends and went off to make conversation with them. It took a while for Harry to find Charlie and when he did, he latched on to him and started conversation about dragons and Quidditch. Charlie was only here because his boyfriend, Seamus, was as well.
"What do you think?" Charlie asked, hands dug into his pocket as he moved closer to Harry so he could hear him. The noise around the hall was growing louder.
Harry reached out to touch Charlie's shoulder and said loudly near his ear, "I think it's brilliant."
Charlie nodded and smiled.
"Weasley."
Harry jumped in surprise when Draco sidled up beside them. A cold look swept over the pale face as he stared from Harry to Charlie.
"Hey Malfoy," Charlie greeted.
"You can go now." Draco folded his arms over his chest and smirked. "Your presense isn't needed."
Harry's eyes widened and he watched Charlie frown and say his goodbyes, before stalking off. "What in the bloody hell was that?"
"Nothing," Draco responded patiently as he stared at his nails. He sniffed indignently.
"Nothing?" Harry snorted. "I don't call that nothing. Were you jealous?"
Draco rolled his eyes, lowering his hand so he could stare at Harry. "As if, Potter. I have nothing to worry about. No one is stupid enough to cheat on me."
Harry couldn't help the laughter that bubbled out of his mouth. It seemed to insult Draco because he glared. "Draco, I was talking to him. I was most certainly not cheating on you with him and I'd never even dream of it, git." He shook his head and cupped the back of Draco's neck, pulling him closer so he could wrap his arms around his neck. "You're a cocky bastard, aren't you?"
"I'm not cocky," Draco smirked, his arms encircling Harry's waist. He pressed their bodies flushed together. "I just love myself."
"Too right." Harry laughed.

Author Notes This is a poem.
I know I can’t take one more step towards you, from Jar of Hearts, by Christina Perri.
I know I can’t leave,
but still, I can’t take that step
towards you, to face you,
to face our troubles.
I know I can’t let them be,
but still, I can’t take that step,
to finish them off, to fix this,
to fix our broken hearts.
I know I can’t break the spell,
but still, I can’t take that step,
to follow it, to let it be,
to let it be bewitched.
