If there is a rating higher than NC-17 I am happy to go there XD

I'm always surprised when a story I'm writing doesn't end up being X rated. LOL
It's quite a shock ^_~

I don't think I've written anything under R, and most of my fics are NC-17. With Harry/Draco (the pairing I most often wrote in HP) there was no way I could get these two in a room together and keep it G. ;)

I started with low ratings and worked my way up. I'm comfortable with them all now. I probably hover mostly around PG-13. It's less a matter of rating than content... like, how far will I go with certain things: rimming? watersports? self-mutilation? RPF? I love to explore new territory and challenge my own squicks. I'd say the most shocking thing that I've written was RPF. And that was only PG or PG-13 or something!

I've written everything, from G to what I consider NC-17. I have the feeling, though, that sex I consider NC-17 might be lower rating to others. Once, somebody called what I clearly perceived as NC-17 sex in my fic "a hard PG-13". On the other hand, issues I'd be comfortable rating R or even PG-13 seem to be NC-17-worthy to others. I find it terrible hard to rate properly and usually go up a bit just to be sure.

I love NC-17!! I've gone into fic intending to write NC-17, though, and watched the story demand it was finished at PG-13, which can be a bit annoying.

I have a hard time writing G-PG-13. If I tried hard enough I'd be able to, but I don't want to stress about keeping it G. UNLESS it is for a prompt, but I rarely pick the squeaky clean prompts. Mainly because I suck at them.

I generally write NC-17, though I've written across all ratings. Sometimes I'm surprised when stories don't turn to smut, but I generally go with it. It's the story that needs to be told. At the moment both my threesome fics are tending towards a PG rating, even though my notes for one of them was for an extended PWP, which is odd, but as long as the story is being told I don't mind too much.

On that note, I really want a threesome icon :/

Seeing as I've written at least a dozen NC-17, I'd say I'm comfortable with that rating! Is there really any higher in fic than NC-17??? Surprisingly, since first writing NC-17 this past year I have yet to write a G rated fic again. I might have to try it just for fun! Might be boring though, a couple can't even kiss in a G rated fic, can they?

I'm totally fine with writing pre-slash or Gen, so writing PG-13 is totally natural for me. Anything lower is like "What?! O.o?". Writing NC-17 is totally fine for me, I just edit it more than I would for something PG-13. I've also written R rated fics using fade-to-black moments, but it's harder because I'm worried I'll disappoint my readers for cutting out all the smut xD

How high are you comfortable with going?
To infinity and beyond. :-) I have written G through NC-17 fics though, so I'm not set on just one rating.

If you're comfortable with NC-17, have you ever been shocked by finding that the story you're writing is G-rated instead?
Nope, although right now I'm finding that a fic I'd intended to be PG-13 at most currently has 1.5k of femsmut and counting. I'm not really complaining though, haha.

I have written every rating possible but my stories tend to be PG 13 and higher... I am a kink whore so its pretty hard to not have an NC 17 rating with those in there plus I love writing sex so its usually included eventually... :D
