Date: 2011-09-03 06:12 am (UTC)02. Draco Malfoy Wanting to write Draco Malfoy came hand-in-hand with writing Pansy. Because I was a het shipper I needed a pairing for Pansy and Draco was the natural choice. I had read through Goblet of Fire by this point and Draco and Pansy attended the Yule Ball together, so I felt pairing them together was logical. I, like, ship Draco and Pansy hardcore. Pottermore may reveal that Draco and Pansy hated each other and never dated at Hogwarts and I won't care. I will ship them until the end of days.

Date: 2011-09-03 06:15 am (UTC)03. Theodore Nott I like writing Theodore Nott almost as much as I like writing Draco Malfoy. JKR has told us that Theodore is just as pure-blooded as Draco and even a bit cleverer, which is cool because we know that Draco is pretty clever himself. I like writing Theodore and Pansy fics; they're kind of a second OTP for me. I like writing Slytherin friendship that is not necesarily between Draco and Pansy (I love that, too, but I do like to shake it up a bit). I like writing Theodore as kind of a quirky loner who doesn't have need for Malfoy's approval, which Draco grudgingly respects. I like to write a really hardcore friendship between Theodore and Pansy with A LOT of UST. I like the idea of there being a top tier Slytherin who is not like Draco. I will say that Draco and Theodore seem to get along pretty well in Half-Blood Prince and seem to share the same disdain for the Gryffindors, so it seems there are similarities there, too. I like the ambiguity of Nott's father being a Death Eater, but us not knowing what Nott's loyalties are; JKR describes Theodore as "not a follower". I love that, seeing as the Slytherins are seen as sycophantic.
04. Ron Weasley Oh my God, is there anything more enjoyable than writing Ron Weasley? He's an amazing character. Emotionally volatile, passionate, too quick to judge, fiercely loyal, yet flawed, and I love that about Ron. Ron is great comic relief, but should not be treated as pure comic relief. He's a serious character in canon and while, yes, he may be the character who is lauging at the twins' U-No-Poo or asking Lavender if he can see Uranus too, Ron is clever and quick-witted and devoted to Harry and Hermione. He suffers from jealousy sometimes, too, which leads him astray here and there. That he covets things makes him interesting and possibly prone to making rash decisions or following his impulses recklessly; this renders him the perfect character to ship with the other volatile characters -- Ron/Pansy is brilliant. BRILLIANT! The combustion of those two together is hard to beat. I enjoy writing Ron as a deeply moral person, who is very flawed. I love Ron Weasley. He does not get enough love.
I also enjoy writing Luna Lovegood; Hermione Granger; Minerva McGonagall; Original Female Characters/OFCs; Argus Filch, Lucius Malfoy, Severus Snape, Albus Dumbledore, Rita Skeeter, and the one instance where I wrote Scorpius Malfoy. The character I least like writing? Harry Potter himself. I find it exceedingly hard to get into his headspace; his characterization in canon doesn't leave a lot of room for reinterpretation and I just don't easily get his voice. I tend to write Harry on the slightly darker side (not evil; just wrestling with demons), although I do tend to avoid CAPSLOCK!HARRY!!!!

Date: 2011-09-03 07:08 am (UTC)Plus, he's hot!! And unlike book!Harry Potter I get to look at him!! XD
Gravitation: I would say I loved writing Eiri Yuki and Shuichi Shindou, also the main characters. I especially loved contrasting their very different personalities with each other: Yuki is a very stoic/gloomy person and quite frequently clashes against Shuichi's bubbly and hyper personality. They are just pure fun!!!
Harry Potter: Much like in Gravitation I enjoy pushing nearly incompatible people together and see what happens and Harry, Draco and Snape are my favorite characters to write for that very reason. Not only because of their differences but also because (to me, maybe I'm biased because I've read them so much here in fandom) their personalities are very fluid. Depending on the situation they can be adorable or witty or mean or tragic and they truly are loads of fun to mess with!! <3

Date: 2011-09-03 02:47 pm (UTC)Labyrinth - Jareth, obviously! *has an unhealthy love of David Bowie, and an even more unhealthy love of the Goblin King* Always paired with Sarah, of course. Although some twisted part of me wants to go see if I can find any Jareth/Toby now. hm...
Will & Grace - Will's personality was always my favourite, followed very closely by Jack. Which is probably a big part of why I ship those two so fucking hard.
Kushiel's Legacy - Melisande. o_o That woman is everything I could ever want in a Domme and soooo much more.
House M.D. - House!! Wilson is a lot of fun and all, and I love to ship him with House, but House has all the personality. :D
Sorcerer's Apprentice - Balthazar Blake. He's hundreds of years old and a sorcerer. What the hell is not to like about this man? He has a sense of humour that is just awesome, as well, but he's pretty much in control of himself and most situations he winds up in. And... well... I'll never get over hearing him tell Dave, "I'm not your mentor, I'm your master." *grins*
Glee - Dave Karofsky... I feel this needs no explanation. :)

Date: 2011-09-03 04:03 pm (UTC)Draco Malfoy: I love him. ;P I connect with him more than any of the other characters, perhaps because we're both slightly misanthropic, cynical buggers with a strange outlook on life and an even stranger family. He's deliciously flawed which is what makes a character real, and the fact that he was thrown into such difficult situations at such a young age makes him so much fun to write.
Harry Potter: I'm such a Harry fangirl at heart. :3 I seriously cannot make it through any of the books or movies without dissolving into tears and hiccuping something along the lines of, "But he's so braaave... *wails*" I love that he's such a shy boy and a little awkward, and yet pushes himself to make it through all of these tough situations. He's a proper hero and I love himmm. ^_^
Pansy Parkinson: Okay, I'm really just a sucker for any Slytherin girl, but Pansy's the one we know the most about. She was very one-dimensional in the books, but no one really has that kind of black and white personality. I think she had to have as many shades of grey as Draco does, though I retain the fact from canon that she's a merciless bitch... though that's not necessarily a bad thing. ;P Plus, she obviously cares about Draco, and I adore their friendship.

Date: 2011-09-04 03:25 am (UTC)Also, Wes Janson: The one time I wrote him it was pure fun! He's such a prankster and so very much like me in profic that writing him in fanfic was like writing myself, and it came naturally.
Harry Potter: This is hard because I like each character that I've written a lot! And for very varied reasons... My absolute favourite would have to be Scorpius Malfoy right now. All we had in the books was the one little glimpse of him in the epilogue, so really he is an unknown entity, and that's the thing I love the most! One day I could write Scorpius similar to Draco, having been in Slytherin house and a right prat, and then the next day I could write him as a brainy Ravenclaw who owns a bookstore in Diagon Alley. The possibilities are endless! Not to mention, he got his father's good looks so he's hot, and unlike Draco I can save him from marrying a woman or being a right prat to Harry! (Yes, I know I can do those things with Draco also!)
Adam Lambert RPF: TommyJoe Ratliff: I have a lot in common with him, and it's easiest to get in his head, so to speak, to write him. And surprisingly enough, he reminds me a lot of the Scorpius I like to write.

Date: 2011-09-04 07:56 am (UTC)In Power Rangers, Jason for the guys, Kat for the girls. They were definitely the easiest for me to get into their heads.
In Harry Potter, I'm still feeling my way; I haven't yetattempted to write other characters than Harry and Draco. I'm drawn to them, but I guess only time will tell if they actually become my favorites. :)

Date: 2011-09-04 05:42 pm (UTC)that travesty of an epilogue/interviewsthe other characters I'd written. Fred's death hit me the hardest, and writing George's character in this fic was an outlet for me.The Hunchback of Notre Dame: Clopin. He is just the sexiest freaking gypsy ever and is in total control of everything, no question. :-)
FernGully: Hmm. I guess Hexxus, but only because it's pretty much the only character I've written in the fandom. I've always thought Hexxus was a great villain (with some of the best animation).
Greek Mythology: Hermes. His and Hekate's friendship (in my headcanon, at least) fills me with joy.
The Sims 2: Nervous. He's got so much more strength than people might think.

Date: 2011-09-04 09:06 pm (UTC)I loved Massie and Olivia. Massie can be so devious, so girly, so powerful. I think she was a bit of a childhood dream for little girls. Olivia is the opposite; she's stupid, dumb blonde, and her character is so easy to bed to my will. I love having Olivia piss Massie off in my stories. You can bash Olivia in any fic, yet it comes off as natural because of the way her character is shaped by the original author.
Harry Potter:
I love Draco. His personality is near identical to my own. It's so easy to place myself in the story and think "what would I do?". The only trouble I ever have is Draco is a boy, and I'm a girl. I think that's why I like genderbender fics. Because girl!Draco = me. ^_^ I also love writing Ron. I'm a bit of an extremest, and as that, I see an evil!Ron and a angel!Ron. There's Ron, Harry's best friend and good gryffindor all around, and then there's Ron who turned his back on Harry at the triwizard tournament, left Harry & Hermione to look for Horcruxes on their own, and the first words he said to Harry was "Are you really Harry Potter?" like any other fan. I like featuring both good and evil Ron and combining the two until I get the character I need.

Date: 2011-09-05 06:12 pm (UTC)On the other hand is Zim. A phsycopathic alien, who is very much like Dib, even though their goals are different, he too just wants to be recognized by his leaders.
I do enjoy writing Gaz, Dib's sister who is very complex. She has a mean, dark streak in her and is always brushing off or tormenting her brother. If she was in the HP world she would definately be a Slytherin and I have enjoyed writing fics with her strong personality. Especially when I made her a femfatal in one of them...so enjoyable with her sneaky personality.
And then there is Memrane, Dib and Gaz's father. We know so little about him that it makes molding his character exciting. He is obessed with Science, and his children are second thought to him. It's this mindless obsessivness that I used countless of times, and I love it when he "wakes" up and realizes what a mistake he's made.
In HP I haven't written too much yet, and still flushing out characters. I love writing Harry as I can easily relate to him. Draco's snarkiness comes easier than I thought it would and I quite enjoy writing him.
Other characters I would love to explore: Hermione granger (I feel i haven't done her justice with my writing yet); Ginny Weasley (she can be such a strong awesome character sometimes i itch to try out some of my ideas); Neville (this kid has come a long way since 1st year); many of the slytherins that I have started getting more involved in; some of the death eaters and their values and beliefs (I have always found this prospect fascinating, like with wormtail and why he was such a coward and traitor. How did he get the courage to go to Voldemort, what was promised him?) And I am also fascinated with Tom Riddle's character, and his younger years.
I feel like I am still a baby in the HP fandom and look forward to exploring more of these characters and possibilitis.

Date: 2011-09-11 07:23 pm (UTC)for HP, I most enjoy Harry's generation - Harry, Draco, Hermione, Ron, Neville, Luna, etc... - and "adult" generation - Minerva, Remus, Sirius, Severus, Tonks, Lucius, etc... Not a huge fan of writing the next-gen kids, mostly because we have so little to go on, from canon.
