Date: 2014-03-06 08:24 am (UTC)"John..." Father walks over to where the deeper snow starts, not letting Doctor Watson out of his sight as he gathers up handfuls of the white stuff.
Doctor Watson hefts his snowball. "I'm armed and not afraid to shoot."
"John, look behind you," Father says as he packs and shapes the snow between his gloves. He nods in that direction, still keeping his eyes fixed on Doctor Watson's.
Behind Doctor Watson, Emily is sneaking up with a nice, fat snowball cradled in both hands and a huge, gleeful expression on her face. She shakes her head desperately at Father, trying to make him stop talking.
But Doctor Watson doesn't seem to believe him. He grins and shakes his head. "You're going to have to do better than that."
Tristram is beside himself with delight. One of them is going to get him. He decides to side with Father. "Doctor Watson, really, he's telling the truth! Look!" he shouts and points at Emily.
She makes an exaggerated shushing face as she keeps advancing.
Doctor Watson still thinks it's a trick. "Oh-ho," he laughs, "double-teaming me, you think that's-"
Emily lifts her snowball over her head and flings it at her father with both hands. It falls apart like her first one did, but she's close enough that the larger portion hits him anyway, landing mostly on the back of his neck and falling down inside his collar.
He yelps and twists around, and just as he does, Father yells, "Get down, John!"
Doctor Watson reacts even before Tristram has processed the order, crouching on the spot, and Father's snowball flies right through the space he was just standing in and hits Emily square in the chest with an audible thunk.
Her eyes widen just for a split second in surprise before she screeches in delight and runs away into the snowy field again.

Date: 2014-03-06 08:41 am (UTC)Excerpt:
James clutched the piece of parchment in his fist and resumed course. Scorpius’ note hadn’t said much, but then neither did Scorpius.
James
We’ve got a situation. Come home now.
We need you.
Scorpius
The little blighter...he knew just what not to say to make James presume the worst. Now he wouldn’t be able to relax until he was sure his family was alright. Angela hadn’t been happy at being abandoned on their first actual date, but she was a sporting sort. James would make it up to her later.
Finally, he was running up the small driveway and to the house.
Home.
It was calm, quiet and tranquil.
Those were not phrases James usually associated with his family.
Filled with a sense of foreboding, he opened the door, stepped inside and padded down the familiar hall to the family room.
Scorpius was the first to spot him. “Oh, thank Merlin!” he exclaimed in relief. He was sitting on the sofa with Al and Lily on either side. Lily waved cheerfully at him and Al grinned happily.
“You made it!” Al cheered. “We were wondering when you’d show up.”
James frowned suspiciously. This didn’t look like an emergency. No, this looked like a set up!
“What’s going on?” he growled.
Scorpius blinked innocently. “Didn’t you get my note?” he asked.
“You said there was an emergency,” James informed him shortly.
“Did I?” Scorpius cocked his head and tapped his finger against his chin. “No, I believe I used the word ‘situation’. Completely different, don’t you know? But I see your point. What an unfortunate misunderstanding.” Lily stifled a giggle and pressed her face into Scorpius’ shoulder. Al coughed, apparently trying to hide a snort of laughter.
James was going to hex someone. Three someones, to be specific. “Seriously?” he spat. “What the hell, guys? I was on a date!”
“Family comes first,” Lily announced. “Besides, we didn’t want to do this without you.”

“Scor! Hurry up!”
“Shhh. You’re going to wake them up!”
“Well, if you’d only hurry up. You’re not really light you know.”
Scorpius rolled his eyes and tried to stretch his arm out further, he was almost there. It took a few more seconds of blindly moving his hand about before he felt the cool exterior of the jar.
“Got it!” He exclaimed, almost falling off as Albus tried to look up. He grabbed onto the shelf with both hands, “Stop moving! I’ll fall off!”
“Next time I’m going to stand on your shoulders, let’s see how you like it then.”
Scorpius ignored his brother’s muttering and tried to pull the jar towards him, the glass slipping against his fingers. He’d almost managed to grab onto it and pull it near the edge when he heard his brother say, “I think I’m going to sneeze.”
He stared down sternly at the head of black messy hair and ordered, “Don’t you dare Albus. If father wakes up I’ll put it all on you.”
“It’s not something I can control! Rosie said if you try to stop a sneeze your brain can explode and I don’t wanna die!” Albus whined rubbing his nose on his sleeve and making Scorpius wobble again.
It happened in a second. There was a loud sneeze followed by a crash! that echoed around the now silent kitchen. It took them three seconds of pin drop silence before,
“Run!!!”

Date: 2014-03-06 06:29 pm (UTC)‘Well the twins will be pleased, at least,’ Ron continued. ‘If you and Gitfoy cure lycanthropy, their entire new line with be worthless.’
There was that, at least. Hermione still wasn't impressed. "I appreciate their dedication to our pack," she said—
"If only they could be dedicated to eliminating the need for our pack by, perhaps, working on a cure instead of werewolf gags," Draco muttered.
Hermione gave him a look. "Each member of our pack contributes something valuable, Draco. There's just as much value in acceptance as there is in ambition."

Date: 2014-03-08 01:30 am (UTC)'Quidditch is all about teamwork,' Harry said, 'we've all had plenty of practice at it.'
'It's a bit easier when you get along with everyone you're working with,' Hermione pointed out. 'It is a team building exercise by working with people you don't already get along with.'
'Why would anyone want to do that?'
'Because,' Hermione said, 'it is an important skill. Not everyone you work with in real life will always be one of your friends.'
'You're only doing this to try and prove I'm obsessed with Malfoy.'
'Well, maybe this will give you a chance to stare at his face instead of his arse for a while.'
Harry glared at her back as she marched away from him, and then took a deep breath and followed her. There was no way he'd survive a whole month working with Malfoy on anything, let alone teaching him a Muggle sport. Harry had never even played football!

"This is entirely your fault, Potter."
Harry resolutely ignored his irritating blond partner as he searched for a way out of the room they'd gotten themselves locked inside of when Harry had gotten shoved--by a certain impatient Malfoy--into a Tripwire Charm that sealed all the exits shut. They'd been lucky that that was all it'd done.
"There's no way out, Potter. We'll just have to wait for the instructors to let us out."
"You give up too easily," Harry spat over his shoulder. Malfoy might've said something in return, but Harry didn't hear him. He was too focused on a weak point in the perimeter wards. If he could blast enough raw power into it, he could probably break the whole thing, or at least make a hole big enough to squeeze through.
He took a step back from the weak spot, which was situated over a painting of an empty vase. With his eyes closed, he mustered all the power he had in him. His eyes flew open as he raised his wand and slashed it down as viciously as he could and slammed a Blasting Curse at the weak point.
For a moment, he thought it had worked. But then the ward seemed to shiver and absorb the attack, settling back down again after a moment.
Harry sighed. "Bollocks."
"You need more power," Malfoy said. He stood next to Harry, examining the spot he'd attacked with curiosity. "It might work if we do it together."
"Finally feel like being useful, Malfoy?" Harry quipped.
"Shut up and take aim, Potter."
Harry smirked to himself as he did as he was bade. Malfoy was annoying and high-maintenance, but occasionally he amused Harry and they could work as a team when they really needed to. He just wished he didn't whinge so much.

The two moved easily, effortlessly and together they were easily able to wrangle up the Death Eaters surrounding them. It was why they were always partners on the job. "There!" Draco yelled, pointing and Harry didn't even bother to look as he threw a curse before moving again.
The last Death Eater went easily when he knew that he was the last one and Harry sidled up close to Draco, smirking. "We make a good team."
"Shut up," Draco responded with a roll of his eyes. Harry saw the twitch of a smile though.

Date: 2014-03-09 06:23 am (UTC)"What in the bloody hell are you two doing here? I've seen enough of both of you for the past three weeks to satisfy for the entire year," Professor Snape snarled after opening the door to his quarters to find Draco and Harry.
Harry smirked at Draco before saying, "Team work. Draco and I have finally found something we're willing to work at cooperatively."
Severus arched an eyebrow. "And this requires you to pester me at eight at night? You've already been caught out of bed late at night once this term. Do you really want to make it twice?"
Draco smirked. "Definitely." He shoved Severus back into his rooms and twined his arms around his neck, kissing him deeply. He pushed his tongue past Severus's parted lips and moaned at the taste of whiskey. He continued kissing him as he steered him to his bedroom. Draco felt Harry's hand stroke over his hip and he halted, gasping in some much needed air. Draco glanced around swiftly before pushing Severus back on the bed.
Harry divested them of their clothes and joined them, not wasting a moment before sucking Severus's cock into his mouth. Severus groaned and fisted his hand in Harry's hair. Draco watched as Harry shivered when Severus pulled at his hair, and filed that away for later.
"Draco, come here," Severus moaned.
Draco complied quickly, kneeling over Severus's chest and rubbing his cock across Severus's lips before thrusting into his mouth. Draco groaned as Severus trailed his tongue up his cock, before swirling it in his slit. He could hear Harry moaning as he sucked Severus and a rustling. Draco looked back to see Harry rubbing himself off on the sheets.
Draco's attention was brought back to Severus abruptly as Severus sucked his whole cock down his throat. Draco groaned at the tight heat, and threw his head back, coming down his throat. He pulled back and kissed Snape, licking the few drops of spilt semen from his chin. He heard Harry groan and felt Severus arch up against him. Draco rolled to the side as Harry joined them, kissing Severus deeply. Draco snuggled up to Severus, too tired and content to move to go back to his room.
"I would have to say your skills at cooperation are merely adequate. They could definitely do with a bit more practise."
Harry snorted. "We'll get on that tomorrow."

Date: 2014-03-11 08:24 pm (UTC)"Ron, this is supposed to be team work!“
"So? I stir and he does everything else.“
Harry blustered. "Letting Draco do all the work, while you only stir is hardly fair!“
Ron turned red with anger. "And I suppose working with you would be fairer to him?“
Harry sighed and turned back to Zabini. He was chopping his jabberknoll root angrily, his back to his friend.
Zabini smiled tentatively at him. "It is not as bad as I thought working with you, you have managed to not blow up the couldron yet.“
Harry grinned. "I just wish, Ron would pull his own weight. Putting him and Draco together is a recipe for disaster.“
This earned him a smirk. "Just because you have found a liking for former Slytherins, doesn´t mean he has.“
"Get down Weasley!“ Dracos panicked shout was followed by an explosion.
Harry whirled around, just in time to see his best friend sit up. Draco lay next to him bleeding from a head wound, unconcious.
"We have to get him to the hospital.“
Zabini helped him transport Draco to the hospital wing. Madam Pomfrey fussed over the blond boy for a while before she turned to them. "You did well, he´ll be fine in no time.“
Harry smiled at Zabini. "Seems like we are a good team, in more than one area.“

Date: 2014-03-11 08:28 pm (UTC)His wand fizzles and stutters, vibrating angrily against his palm. He sees Malfoy out of the corner of his eye clasping his free hand over his wand wrist, teeth gritted as he takes another menacing stride towards the creature they are attempting to back into a corner.
The thing is, Harry had though Kingsley was stark raving mad when he had paired them together not even a year ago. Totally bonkers. And he'd said as much, claimed they couldn't change a light bulb between the two of them even if the survival of the Hippogryff depended on it – not least because Malfoy didn't know what one was and they'd be too busy arguing for Harry to do it himself.
But Kingsley had looked back at him from under his thick brow knowingly and said 'you two have chemistry, Potter' – and Harry knew he was serious if they were working on a last name basis – 'and do you know what that means?' Obviously rhetorical. 'It means you two have the foundations of a truly great team.' And that was the end of it.
Now, Harry doesn't think Kingsley was as off his head as he had first thought. With his wand burning his flesh and the smell of Malfoy's blood and sweat shadowing him, he's pretty sure Kingsley might have been right on the mark.
He casts fluctus aquarum the same time Malfoy's wand finally cooperates and blurts forth a hurling fireball. The explosion of steam when they collide sears the skin on his face and blinds him. But when he looks up after the mist has cleared – and his glasses have unfogged - the creature is down and out, sprawled across the crumbling brickwork.
“We meant to do that, right?” Harry asks tentatively.
“Right,” Malfoy replies, nodding decisively – not sounding at all sure - and glaring down at his wand.
