WRITE EVERY DAY: A Challenge!
Oct. 12th, 2013 06:49 pmFor the next THREE WEEKS I challenge you to WRITE EVERY DAY!
They say it takes 3 weeks to make or break a habit! (Whether that is true or not, we are going to go for it!)
There is no minimum word count. It doesn't matter how many words you write each day. It can be 1000, 500, 100, or even just 25 words! Even if you just edit a couple of words in or out of your current project - that counts too! The key is to work on your writing each day... to do something towards your goal and keep writing front and center in your mind!

I'll have mini-inspirational reminders for you along the way, plus we'll have our regularly scheduled word wars, SRS BZNZ writing chats, a Halloween challenge and all of our other regular activities to help inspire you along the way for the next 21 days!
And a bonus for those of you doing NANO, it will take you right into the beginning of November and get you off to a flying start on that even bigger challenge with your new habit hopefully set in stone.
What happens if you don't write every day? If you forget, no worries - just jump in and write the next day or the next! I'll have awards for those of you that make it through the entire challenge without missing a day! But I'll also have a little something for all who give it a try - something different depending on your level of success!
Comment below to take the pledge and sign up to join us as we make daily writing a habit!
While you're there, please share any success you may have had with daily writing in the past!

Date: 2013-10-13 12:01 am (UTC)My main goal is to write at least 1000 words every day although I've recently upped the goal and am trying for 2000. I have a spreadsheet that I keep track of every single word that I write, even if it's just a few words here and there. It evolved from a simple thing in January to a now massive spreadsheet that I include long RPs, etc and I keep track of what every word that I write on is for. The spreadsheet is easier because it keeps track for me and I can see my words add up. Also, it's really incentive because when I've written 14 days straight I do not want that one blank space so I'll be sure to write no matter if I don't want to or not.

Date: 2013-10-13 12:40 am (UTC)What an awesome idea, kitty.
I have tried for ages to get into the habit of writing every day, even if it's ten words, but I never managed it yet.

Date: 2013-10-13 01:28 am (UTC)I was thinking about not doing daily checkins but I don't know how I could not do them with a write every day challenge! SO I think I'll mostly just put up a reminder/inspiration thing each day... I just need to schedule them ahead of time to make sure I don't forget! XD

Date: 2013-10-13 03:37 am (UTC)And this is sort of funny because I just pulled out my daily word count spreadsheet two days ago to really start to try to keep count of my word count! So perfect timing! And I'm on a comm that I pledged to write 700 words a day for the month of October, so I'll stick to the 700 for the next 21 days!

Date: 2013-10-13 12:17 pm (UTC)I pledge to write every day for 3 weeks; to work on any aspect of my own fanfic.
I have a few things I'd like to work on, but there is one main fic I'm keen to finish and I hope this will inspire me to write some more words for it and maybe even see it finished by months end. Here's to creative writing!!!
