Here we go! Here are your guidelines. The link back here will be on every theme post so don’t worry about bookmarking or anything. If you're not sure about anything, this post will always be open for questions and I'll get back to you as soon as possible :)

Choosing Your Thing

This fest will be really nice and lenient about what counts under the theme. Each day when the theme post goes up, I’ll let you know what it includes, but if the subject is somewhere in the fic (including just mentioned) it’ll be counted. E.g. If one theme happened to be Dumbledore, he doesn’t need to appear in the fic for it to count. As long as he’s mentioned, it’s all good.

I’ll sometimes add helpful links, but I’m not going to add ao3 links (except to comms). Try not to go for the most recently dated stuff, although if it catches your eye then don't let me stop you. We want to spread the love, but not solely to the lucky, creative people who’ve posted recently.

If you think I’ve missed out a particularly relevant comm/link, drop me a message and I’ll add it to the post.

Commenting On Your Thing

This is a low stress, full fun event. Don’t feel you need to write 500 words of constructive analytical text. Your comment only needs to be 5 words or over. 5 Words!

Remember it has to be new as well.  You can’t use a comment you posted weeks ago, or even yesterday, although all those amazing people probably appreciate them loads.

Submitting Your Comments

This time around, I’m going to say you’re allowed to submit a maximum of 10 comments per theme. Absolutely feel free to go crazier than that around the fandom (in fact, it’s encouraged. For admin purposes, as this is the first time the event is running, I just don’t want to get ahead of myself.)

Just link your comment (as a comment) to the correct theme post. You may add as many comment links in one go as you like, all 10 if you want. Or have your own thread, so you can post them throughout the day/weeks.

All I ask is that you please do not edit comments once they’re up (unless you’ve got typos or something.) In other words, please do not add extra links to comments you’ve already submitted, as they may have already been counted and this mod is only human -- I’m worried some points will get lost somewhere!

What about those leaderboards you mentioned in the previous post?

Oh, those. Unless you’re really competitive like me, try not to worry about those. I won’t bore you with the details of how I’m scoring it until after the event is over (in case you want to make sure I got your score right). Which leads me to one final point:

We absolutely don’t want to limit your participation (other than the 10 comment submission), so you’re absolutely welcome to go back to themes you’ve missed/skipped and comment for them. You can still submit to previous days until the event is over. This won’t score you as much, but I’m really hoping smashing the leaderboards isn’t your main objective anyway.

That’s it. That’s all you’ve got to do. I hope you all have fun. Maybe you’ll find a new author, and you end up sifting obsessively through every word they’ve ever written. Maybe you’ll spot an artist you’ve never seen before, and all you can do is sit and stare because they’re so amazing.

My inbox is always open, and you may ask questions below as well.  I’ll try and get back to any questions left ASAP.

Good Luck! :D

G-Rated

Let’s begin with a nice easy one. Who here is guilty of skipping right to the M, E or R rated stuff? I can raise my glass of wine to that. Why don’t we start by showing our appreciation for all the G-rated (or equivalent lowest rating) creations.
