Heigh ho, modhat!curi here, filling in for Kneazley because I pestered her into it of reasons. Because who doesn’t want to play Calvinball when the chance comes up, am I right?

The Official Calvinball Drabble Day Master List is going up, so that’s a wrap on yet another exciting day of prompts. Thanks to everyone who came out to play, and to the lovely [livejournal.com profile] kinky_kneazle for hosting.

Congratulations to [livejournal.com profile] blossomdreams, who filled every prompt posted and brought some charming original characters to the Calvinball event. Check your inbox, bb, for this is a feat worthy of prizes.

Here's the list of Calvinball prompts and all the lovely fills.

TRIATHLON! WORD WAR SIGN UP!

Welcome to our first all time zones Triathlon word war! This will be our last word war for the Harry/Draco Go For the Gold games and the rules for this word war are a little unconventional. Let me reiterate them here, with clarifications, and, as always, please leave any questions in the comments. Yesterday I wrote:

As long as you document 72 consecutive hours of word warring over the next five days (Th - Fri - Sat - Sun - Mon) you will be eligible for the gold! To be completely clear, I'm setting the final cutoff for all time zones for 12:00 P.M. TUE 14 AUG GMT. That should be enough time to give everyone the opportunity to word war for 72 consecutive hours without worrying about the time zones. This is the official sign-up post up; you are free to sign up when it's convenient for you! Just take care to allow yourself a full 72 consecutive hours to compete up until Tuesday 12:00 NOON GMT 14 Aug. We're nearing the end of our games -- let's go for the gold with a fresh kind of word war and a real bang!

LET'S HIT THE FINAL LEG OF THE GO FOR THE GOLD GAMES HARD!

*Sorry to contiuously stress "consecutive" in such an annoying way! Just wanted to ensure there was no question about that. Thank you, [livejournal.com profile] tryslora, for bringing that to my attention :D

THE SEMICOLON

At a comma stop a little .... At a semicolon somewhat more.
Richard Hodges, The English Primrose, 1644

~*~

Welcome to our semicolon grammar game! The semicolon is perhaps the most feared and misunderstood punctuation mark in the English language. There's no need to panic, though, when trying to correctly utilize the semicolon. This little mark is utilitarian, easy to understand, and useful for creating smooth prose. I love, Love, LOVE semicolons!

|| SEMICOLON CHALLENGE UNDER THE CUT || )

Complete this little semicolon quiz and mail your answers to slytherincess[at]gmail[dot]com, no later than Tuesday 14 August, 12:00 A.M. GMT. Winners will be announced Wednesday 15 August at the Go For the Gold closing ceremonies. Good luck!
