I'm so happy that I wrote so many words during the weekend, especially on my 00Q fic because I thought that it wouldn't even reach 1k but now it's over 4k. Mpreg fic though gave me headache and although I didn't reach my goal, I made quite a bit of progress towards that goal. *g*

Wish I had been more efficient though >~< and so I've worked out that my average writing each day is about around 2384 words... that's a lot? Isn't it?? No. I failed to cheerlead on Sunday check-ins. *apologetic* I posted my TW fullmoon_ficlets to AO3 and to Tumblr, but not to LJ/DW or comms. I didn't write enough. I did make butter and have fun playing board games with our house guest, though!

“You were bitten.”

“Thanks, yes, I’d love to talk paranormal distress over coffee.” Stiles finishes pouring it into a mug and takes a hesitant sniff. Hazelnut, he thinks. Needs creamer. He pads over to the fridge and rifles through it, checking the expiration date on the carton before using the vanilla creamer that he finds. It makes the coffee palatable, at least, and he needs the caffeine this morning.

Honestly, Stiles is starting to wonder if he’ll ever sleep normally again.

When he looks up from his coffee, Derek is standing far too close, doing that looming thing again. “Dude,” Stiles takes a step back, finds the counter right behind him. “Stop trying to intimidate me. I just want to eat breakfast, then I’ll make phone calls and Molly and I will go out for the day. You won’t even know we’re here.”

He isn’t prepared for the way Derek leans in, pressing his nose to Stiles’s throat. The bite aches, and Stiles remembers that it may be mostly healed, but it still has a long way to go. He could swear it throbs in reaction to Derek’s inhalation.

“Dude, if you try to taste the Alpha’s scent on my skin I will hurt you,” Stiles mutters softly. “Back off. It’s just a bite, and no, I’m not turned, and I’m not dead.”

I'd say 2400 words per day is a totally respectable pace. It's awesome! Write like that every day and you'll be writing a TON each month. Take a day off now, then jump back in tomorrow and keep up the great work!!

I love this story. I keep writing it instead of things I am supposed to be writing. *sighs* Normally I try to alternate between them, but I just didn't have time this weekend! Hopefully I can write later today... it's a goal, anyway!

Oooh, that sounds like an interesting story! I like stories where Stiles is bitten and/or turned.

This is a story where Stiles goes away to college and doesn't look back for five years... when he comes home with a four year old daughter in tow who has been bitten, survived, and is looking ahead to her first full moon. Stiles was bitten, but doesn't go wolf, for Reasons To Be Explored. :) I'm having a ton of fun writing it, but gods, I think it's going to be looong.

Letting it rest for a few days, or even weeks, is never a bad thing. Distance lets a writer see way more in their own words than they see right after the writing of it. I find editing older work far easier than the stuff I've just written.

I'm going to edit part one now. I haven't touched that part since november. Then I'll take a couple of weeks away from it, before I start on the part I just wrote.
