I recently signed up my first fest in years. I wrote 1500 words straight off and now it's all tailed off a bit but I've got time. Also, really excited about a fic (series of one-shots) I started a couple of months ago that's got to about 40,000. I've learnt my lesson about posting fics before I've got the plot sorted in my head though so I'm waiting to post until I've filled in some holes from later in the story. I'm really enjoying writing it which makes a change; not too much banging my head against the keyboard with this one!

Date: 2012-06-25 05:15 pm (UTC)Also lyrics! Often a prompt will earworm me with a song, and I'll start building from there. Almost all of my titles are drawn from songs somehow, or inspired by them. Current bands that really make me think about their lyrics include Yellowcard, The Academy Is, All Time Low, MCR, We the Kings. But somedays I'll just have a phrase in mind and try to google it and the word lyrics and see what comes up that inspires me.
