Quick Quill Quotes Week #14
Some of us are feeling tired and run-down. Some of us can't wait for the weekend to finally come. And some of us have already thrown our plot bunnies into the ether.
But never fear, Quick Quill Quotes is here!
Take up your Biros and Ballpoints! Brandish your sharpener and retrieve that dreaded red marker from its dusty corner! Flex those fingers!
I think we're all feeling a bit run down and inspiration seems to be waning, so I thought we're revisit an old favourite everyone enjoyed this week!
The current week's theme is: Comedy
This can be anything related to Comedy Is laughter racing through the halls of Hogwarts? Are Holiday one-liners starting to sneak into conversation? Or is the wit less subtle?
We’ll love to read anything you give us!
So give us a snippet of a current piece you're working on, don't be shy! Whether there's only one word related to the theme or it's a devoted sonnet, we want to hear about it.
Don’t have anything related to this weeks theme? No problem. A new drabble within the word limit is an excellent contribution as well! Only got 50 words? So what? Every word counts!
Entering and Rules
The snippet or drabble must be 400 words or under. It should be a new drabble OR from a current work. It should also, however loosely, be related to this weeks theme.
To participate, simply leave your contribution as a comment below.
Posting will close Wednesday 18th December at 00.00 GMT
Don't be afraid to cheer on your fellow writers!
Good Luck!
Note: Even after posting closes feel free to let a well-deserving author know how much you loved their snippet! Comments on entries do not close!
And remember to warn for porn!

It was nearly midnight. Harry and Draco were in Draco's chambers along with their sons. The boys had snuggled under a blanket on the couch while Harry and Draco sat in the big arm chairs opposite. They were drinking wine and talking about the coming term and Harry's plans for it. Draco was trying to give him some advice, but he was constantly interrupted by professor Dumbledore who had joined Professor Snape in his portrait. He kept chiming in with what he called helpful advice. But mostly it was a whole bunch of stories about all the other teachers who had ever taught Defence.
"Remus was my absolute favourite," he said after a bit and Snape snorted.
Dumbledore was unperturbed. "I know you never liked him, Severus, but you can't deny that he was good teacher," he said.
"He made fun of me in front of the students! He made them laugh at me," Snape said indignantly.
Draco and Harry remembered that day very well and they couldn't help but laugh at the memory.
"Poor Neville. He was terrified of you, Severus," Draco said. "Still is, the poor sod."
Snape huffed. "That was no reason to make a laughing stock of me..."
"Oh quit being so dramatic. We only laughed at you for a couple of seconds before we went back to being terrified again."
"You and Potter...terrified of me? How stupid do you think I am?" Snape sneered, but it was obvious that his heart wasn't in it.
"Maybe terror is a strong word. Let's call it cautious respect shall we, Professor?" Harry said teasingly.
"Insufferable brat..." Snape muttered while Draco did his best not to laugh.

"That was relatively painless, wasn't it?" Harry said bracingly as they exited the Quidditch stadium.
The air was crisp and the ground was covered with a new blanket of snow, which must have fallen as they were inside the weatherproof stadium. The whiteness of the snow shone off Harry's face and seemed to make him glow against the brilliantly blue sky. It was almost enough to make Draco forget about the absolutely appalling match they'd just witnessed. Almost.
Draco was unable to hold back a snort. "If you're talking about Wilkinson's pathetic attempt to distract the Holyhead Keeper by balancing a Bludger on his head, I'd have to politely disagree. That has got to be one of the more ghastly Quidditch accidents I've had the misfortune to witness. And did you see the Seeker? Weaving around the hoops like she was drunk. Honestly."
"Well, there's that," Harry admitted, "but I was kind of referring to the outing as a whole. It was relatively painless coming here with me, wasn't it?"
Draco's eyes met Harry's. "There is that."

“Well, if the rumors I hear are true, I know a great guy,” Susan said. “I would trust him with my life.”
George looked at her. “Did you look in that little book?”
“Please, I don’t need your book to hear rumors. My best friend is gay; I hear enough of them on my own.”
“I put his name in at the very top.”
Harry looked between Ron and Hermione. “Why do I suddenly feel scared?”
Hermione and Ron both laughed. “You get used to them together and then you begin to wonder why it took them so long to find each other.”
Susan turned to look at Hermione. “You get used to us?”
“Susan, I think we need to pick some better friends. Either that or rethink their presents!”
