27 – Where is your favorite place to write, and do you write by hand or on the computer?

We welcome your participation! There is no minimum or maximum requirements for your answers -- they can be as long or as short as you'd like. I will include my answer as a comment.

When I write somewhere besides my house, I also suffer from paranoia, but I go to great lengths to avoid having to not-write. Like...developing a really intense code partially based off Cyrillic or using a skinny reporters notebook in order to compose TEH SMUTZ without distraction. I tell people that's how I take notes, even though they definitely don't care at all.

So a lot of my writing gets done in my linguistics class.

When I'm at home, I prefer the computer, since no one is there to look over my shoulder and be like, 'is that gay?'

To which the answer is probably yes...

I too suffer from the paranoia that people are reading what I'm typing, so when I'm not at home, I do all my writing in a composition book. Mostly, I write in biochem class or pharmacology because those classes are just too damn boring. At least by writing in those classes, I manage to stay awake and get to write for an hour or two without any interruptions. The one problem is that now I have notebooks full of handwritten work that I just haven't had the time or energy to decipher and type up on my computer. Does anybody else have this problem when they write by hand?

I adore writing at my desk, in my bedroom. I'm pretty much uncomfortable writing anywhere else. I'm also a Microsoft Word fan, and I find I really can't write as fast or as well if I'm not typing on word. I'm getting better at typing in HTML, but I dislike it because it's harder for me to edit, I guess.

I can outline by stickynotes xD and outlining in a notebook when I'm away from my computer, but I'm trying to do it more now. If I'm away and I'm writing a one-shot, I like to write out scenes on my iPhone. It's easier for me to write on the go.

Probably my bedroom, on my bed. I prefer the quiet of my own room, but sometimes the interaction downstairs can help so either of those! Both hand and computer! And a good thing too because the computer decided to take a vacation this week! Usually I start a story on paper, especially if it's over 2k. Then I usually give up and finish on the computer. I type way faster than I write so usually in the time it takes me to do 2k on paper I could have 5k typed.

In my room at my desk, and always, always on the computer. Writing anything longer than a note by hand and then having to type it up would drive me nuts.
