21 – Sequels – Have you ever written a sequel to a fic you wrote, and if so, why, and if not, how do you feel about sequels?

I haven't yet, but I want to. The problem is that the first story is a terrible badfic and would have the be edited massively. but the sequel is so shiny ;)

In general, I have ambivalent feelings. Sometimes, sequels can enrich a story and add much more to it, making it better. Sometimes, a sequel can be just superfluous and not half as good as the original story. This especially when it takes away from the impact of the end of the story. Therefore, I didn't write some sequels I did have ideas for.

No! I didn't get that impression at all! I was just continuing the conversation :D You brought up a point that I've pondered too, so I just thought I'd comment. It's something I've worried about while writing this one sequel I'm working on; it just reminds me to write purposefully and not just for the hell of it. KWIM?
