Personally, I see BDSM as a kink, but I think it would fall under a certain genre, such as darkfic (it's it's really hardcore BDSM and seriously D/s and there's all kinds of degredation going on) but it can also be part of romance when the couple is willingly engaging in it.

Hurt/Comfort is a nice genre! So is romance! <3
