THURSDAY CHECK-IN!!

Is Thursday ending where you are? Then it's time to check in! One day gone, and you still have three more to write write write all the words! Intermediary check-ins are completely optional, but if you want some extra encouragement come and tell us how you are doing and encourage your fellow writers also!
Remember you can always find encouragement here, in the chatroom or in Serious Business Writing Room.
It's not too late to join in the war! Just check in at the original post right here.
So... how's it going so far?

New Words Written: 38
Total Words So Far: 38
Projects Worked On: August DD
If You Set Other Goals (get characters to hook up, find a way to work in some smut/angst/fluff, reach a certain plot point, whatever), Are You Progressing? I remembered to pack my paintbrushes to take to the campground for art. This is actually progress.
Anything To Share (flailing, requests for butt-kicking, pep-talks, snippets, etc.)? Why is it so hard to write smut? It used to be EASY to write PWP and now I struggle.

On the other hand, I spent those 27 years struggling to learn to write descriptions, plots, and fights... I still can't write a physical fight at all well.
Advice from a professional author friend: write sex scenes like they are battles. Me, I try to write battles as if they are sex scenes.
And having the paintbrushes was a very good thing this (Saturday) morning.
