I like angst or flangst. I can be a really dark person (in personality) if I want to be, and sometimes that leaks into my writing. In all of my fics, even something meant to be pure fluff, ends up with a scene of pure angst and tears. I like happy endings, however, so it usually results in fluff again.

Does BDSM count as a genre? Because I'm very fond of that, to be honest! But if that doesn't count, I suppose romance is what I tend to gravitate towards. Although, my lovely lorca is getting me in a serious hurt/comfort mode with some of our co-writes.

Angst, family problems, teen pregnancy, mpreg...all things that I have gone through in real life usually. Except for the mpreg obviously :D

I write mostly H/C - as I mentioned in an earlier post, nearly all my characters wind up broken in some way, whether I intended them to or not - but I've dabbled in crack, humour, angst, flangst, dark!fic, romance, tragedy... I even played with epistolary in my HP_porninthesun fic, and I really liked it!

Although I don't consider content part of the genre, per se, I do write a LOT of BDSM, D/s, slash, threesomes, PTSD, etc.

I seem to be wired for cuteness, fluff, romance, and smut. Whenever I try to write something dramatic things are resolved at the end. The same with angst, flangst, and my attempts at darkness. Whenever I write dark I have to end it with a light tone or something that will ensue happiness at the end. I write hurt/comfort, romance, het, slash, and light D/s themes. Crossdressing, threesomes, and mpreg is something new I tried in recent fests and enjoyed it. ^^

I tend to write angst, romance, and PWP most often. But I have written at least one story in each genre, and they're all particularly fun in their own respects! I think I prefer most angst, because it seems more real to me... whereas a story with just romance and PWP don't have any of the nasty bits of life.

I do best when I write tension. Angst, hurt/comfort, etc. I've written small fluffy fics, but I can't find the balance between tolerable fluff and cavity-inducing fluff. :-)

My stories tend to be very smutty but I like to think I add a bit of romance to them all... i also love to write angst and lots of kink.
