Oh, I am sad that you had to drop, but for your sanity, I am glad you were able to make that decision. I dropped a big bang earlier this year because I knew I couldn't make it, and it just... it lifted such a huge load off my shoulders. It let me regroup and start to figure out how to move forward again, and I hope this works the same for you! *hugs*
